About Loomunique

Sales 17
On Etsy since 2012

This is a one person, one weaver, one packer and one shipper shop.. I will be the only one, except for the USPS, handling your purchase.
Weaving has been in and out of my life for many years. Having studied Fashion Design in NYC, working for a NY Buyers Office like Burdines, Studying Art at Northwestern U and Douglass/Rutgers, and Art Students League, and raising sheep which produced lots of wool I eventually incorporated it all into weaving. After downsizing several times, my large looms and old equipment gradually disappeared, some as giveaways, many along with books, were sold, on Etsy at my WeaverBeaver shop site. After two-three years with WeaverBeaver I had eliminated most and was needing a replacement when I discovered the now popular Triangle and geometric shaped frame looms. These looms require very little space and equipment. The weaving is much more of a hands on involvement compared to setting up a floor loom and other multi -shaft looms where the loom then does the weaving. So now it is more like weaving a tapestry, personal, and hands-on. I love it, and can't help experimenting with different yarns, shapes and combinations, as well as using my own home grown yarns which were usually dyed with the wild plants on the farm. I am also intrigued with the many new hand dyed variegated yarns and natural fiber yarns such as Banana,(similar to Linen in process), Camel, and Bamboo, as long as they have some wool mixed with them. Hmmm...maybe someone will make a fiber out of Kudzu.
So, after using my WeaverBeaver shop to dispose of the used equipment and books I no longer had use or room to keep, I developed my Etsy Loomunique shop and that's how it came to be.. Of course, it will always be a work in progress and now that I have some stock finished to sell I hope to get it moving. My sales record and reputation for service on my WeaverBeaver shop was excellent in it's 2-3 year existence. So my goal is to follow that
record with LOOMUNIQUE and provide the same quality service with any purchases.
Thank you for visiting and please come back and check the future new shawls as they come off the loom.
