5 out of 5 starsMy Loopyboopy doll ornaments are even more beautiful in person. The painting is exquisite and they are larger than I expected. So perfect in every way. I am working on the best way to display them and hope to add more. Thank you so much!

About loopyboopy
One of a Kind Art Dolls from Down on the Bayou
Welcome to my loopy world. I am a mother, wife, creator, artist and reveller of all that is good in life.
I have been sculpting since I was a wee one. My mother was a potter and my siblings and I played with the clay and glazes in her studio, I think I knew then that creating art was in my future.
I've been creating art dolls for approx 10 years. I'm inspired by so many things, my daughter and her antics, my own childhood experience good and bad, the current experience of motherhood and most certainly my beloved home of New Orleans is a giant inspiration.
I love people. You can often find me staring in probably a not so polite way but be certain I'm not eyeballing your fashion choices or your hair cut, rather imagining why the smirk, the grimmace, those wrinkles on the forehead...tiny outward signs of what is inside. People have so much more to say than what they are actually saying and that intrigues me and motivates me to create.
New Orleans supplies an unending amount of interesting people whom continually inspire me. The cities history, culture, community, architecture and vibe are a constant source of motivation and inspiration. New Orleans is very dear to my heart in a way that is hard to describe. I have never felt more at home than I do in this city. It is where I belong.
I believe I was born in the wrong century and my dolls clothing are fashions I imagine myself wearing while strolling the streets of 1800s New Orleans sipping on Absinthe. I am enamoured with everything old. I have a not so secret fetish for vintage and Victorian laces, trims and fabrics. I seek out the internet, estates sales and auctions to find the perfect pieces to use in my work. Please note, I will not destroy a vintage piece that is not already destroyed, I'm far too much of a lover of these items to do that. All the girls clothing is handstitched and absolutely unique and original as the materials used are a finite source.
I love what I do, I hope you see that. I also love that I have such a wonderful following of collectors. As a person who creates the greatest accomplishment one can achieve is to truly connect with another human being on a level that goes beyond words. If I can do that I have succeeded in what I set out to do as an artist
Oh and I love hats:)
