About

Rags to Riches

A couple years ago I gave myself a "green" challenge to create a "new" wardrobe from my old boring "rags" or second-hand "rags." I found men's shirts of high quality fabric and removed lapels, added flounces and extra panels into "kimono-style" tunics for a flattering plus size look. I added beautiful scraps and embellished with hand-embroidery details until the mass-produced "rags" were reincarnated into "rich" collage-style sustainable Art-to-Wear. I prefer natural fibers such as cotton, linen, and silk with ethnic, Asian, and nostalgic romantic designs. My love for semi-precious gems has manifested in my shop's collection of hand-crafted, wire-wrapped jewelry. Shop formula: Fabric + Art + Functionality = Art to Wear.

Thank you for browsing. Your patronage, favorites, and reviews keep me going.

Hand-crafting wearable art is like solving puzzles, bringing together materials I love and mix-n-matching until the puzzle pulls together into a creative collage. My art philosophy is "Anything Goes."
