Wildflower Jewelry: A Story Of Blooming Where You're Planted
I began making jewelry in Fargo, North Dakota when my two girls were 5 and 3. I put my first earrings on recycled cardboard backs, signed my name in a metallic pen and called my work "Out Of My Mind Designs."
Since then, my jewelry has brought me on a journey that has introduced me to incredible friends, new techniques, and never-ending discoveries about our resources. Despite being a military wife and mother, I can bring my jewelry with me anywhere, and it's been a way to connect me to my local community and its resources and people.
As I moved from Fargo to Fort Riley, Kansas, and then to Italy, Minnesota, California, and finally Arizona, I felt that "Out Of My Mind Designs" no longer reflected what my jewelry meant to me. I wanted something sturdy, something grounded, to represent my jewelry. I thought of my favorite things: trees. With roots even deeper than their towering branches, they are what we cling to when the world is falling apart. They're strong and adaptable..
So that's what I became: Wildflower Jewelry. But the name change was one of only a few changes. My earring cards became a cleaner cream-colored card stock with an flower punch, but the rest is roughly the same: I respect the earth in all I do. I still use recycled roofing copper, flashing, aluminum cans, repurposed gift cards, vintage tins with precious stones, and other things I've found in nature, like cactus skeletons and acorn tops.
I am finally where I will set my roots, in Bisbee, Arizona, but the jewelry I send to places I've been across the country is the reminder that Wildflower is a state of mind.

*If you are in Arizona like me, I will charge Arizona State sales tax (3.49%).
Shipping
*I DO ship to military APO/FPO addresses. I understand what it's like to be overseas and not be able to order fun stuff online.
*Shipping costs are listed under the item. I generally charge a flat rate for similar items ($1.00 for earrings, $2.00 for necklaces.) If you buy two items with different shipping rates, I will charge the higher rate.
For example, if you buy two pairs of earrings at $1.00 shipping each and a necklace at $2.00 shipping, I will charge $2.00 for shipping. If you buy 20 pairs of earrings, however, it's still $1.00 for shipping.
