Quality of Life

I started this shop when I was laid off from my online work--caring for parents and farm wouldn't allow commuting to a job.

Lengthy commute time to KCKS prohibits me from keeping my now family of horses, cats, and hens should I get a regular job, but since they were there for me through quite possibly the most difficult time of my life, I feel they earned the right to live out their lives here with me. I know I couldn't have cared for my parents until they passed without the antics of my critters to keep me balanced.

I bale my own hay, try to fix stuff that breaks, thank Goodness for my wonderful friends!!, and get up every morning wondering what the day shall bring. While choring last night I watched a skunk in the pasture next to where I keep the stallions! Happily, he didn't head our direction and it was fascinating to watch snuffle the ground and waddle with purpose.

The contents of my shop include vintage items from my slowly condensing my household, my parents, and my great-aunt into 1200 sq ft. I took up ceramics to pursue my creative side that I had always put on the back burner. I make soap because it's a quicker project than my ceramics are -- they're soothing and the cats can't break soap bars. . .

    I travelled the States working until my parents called me home to care for them. 12 short years later, I am by myself except for a bunch of horses, including 6 stallions, a coop full of personality plus hens, and a gazillion cats who won't accept that their caretaker must leave them for 10 hrs/day to make a living. They're convinced I can have it all -- them and an income! I pray every day that they're correct.

Hello! Welcome to my site! I love baking (on vacation for now) & making ceramics and art! It's good for my soul to be creative, and I hope you enjoy them even more than I do! Please browse the collectibles--combining 4 relatives' lifetime accumulation of prized possessions into one home makes for difficult parting...but I know you have space to admire a vintage or an antique item:-)

Payment
For custom orders, half is due at time of order, and the rest is due (plus shipping if not included in initial quote) when I have finished your item. Please expect about a 60-day turn around on this type of order. If I am making a custom order for you, for example a pet memorial plaque or wall decoration, I like to work on paper first in order for you to approve your design and confirm my spelling via email before creating your one-of-a-kind piece.

Should you need to cancel your order, please let me know ASAP!

If you wish to pay by personal or company check, I will not ship for two weeks upon receipt of check until it has cleared my bank. No third party checks accepted (frankly, I'm not even sure what this is, but it must be bad---I see it all the time).
Shipping
No international orders folks, please! I don't understand customs forms and don't have time to learn right now. It is not that I do not love to travel...I will eventually and if you want to goad me into it I will figure it out sooner but the price may change according to the overseas rate to your country.

Shop Local folks, I will happily deduct/refund shipping charges if you wish to pick up your item. Even though I'm a country girl, the interstate (I-70) is just a stone's throw from the front door--you will not get lost if you decide to visit the boonies!

When possible, I try to reuse boxes and clean newspaper, to help the environment and/or popcorn for you to feed your birds when that level of packing is sufficient.

Free Shipping means that the price you see is the total price you pay because I have already estimated the shipping into your price. Should you want to order more than one item, I will refund the extra shipping. I will use the best shipping method I can find that I feel will get your item to you safely.

Methods of shipment: USPS, FedEx Grd, UPS Grd
Refunds and Exchanges
I will accept refunds within 10 days of receipt of item. It is your responsibility to pay return shipping. Refund will be made on cost of item--not my initial shipping charges to get your item to you. (I keep my receipts and will gladly provide you a scanned copy if it is not marked on your box upon arrival.)

If a ceramics item is broken please notify me immediately with a picture and make sure you save ALL the packaging for the carrier to inspect! Once the carrier has inspected it, either return the pieces to me (I'll send you a shipping refund upon receipt of item--slow boat please!) or, send me a digital photo of it in an email and I will replace it. If it is has broken pieces I can re-purpose into a mosaic, that would be why I'd like it back...

I know how to ship fragile items (I'm a laid-off tech writer for a shipping company!) so I do not expect this to happen but should a truck run over it, that would probably bust every bubble in bubblewrap no matter how many wraps it had and burst a double-box packing job. Yeah, they do that sometimes...thankfully, not often.

For one-of-a-kind items from the estate (vintage) sale section of my site, I can not replace broken items. We would have to file with carrier so insurance is mandatory on these shipments.

Also, all packages must be shipped trackable (unless overseas--tracking ends at the border), so that the carrier must account for the loss. No exceptions. If it is worth purchasing, it is worth tracking and insuring!
Additional policies and FAQs
I would love to accept wholesale orders on soaps, happy plaques, and whatever else I offer you feel is sellable in your shop! I am a one-girl shop so there would be a limit on quantity (10,000 kitchen magnets per day, for example,...that's a joke...) but I am sure we could work something out!
