HOW HIGH THE MOON...

MEET THE ARTIST:
I grew up along the banks of the Coosa River in a sleepy town below the Mason/Dixon. In that place honeysuckle and kudzu twists around anything that'll stand still and thunderstorms rumble through the humid summer nights. You don't recognize the magic of this place until you leave it behind. After a decade of chasing big city life I returned. I brought back the best souvenir- a fuzzy headed musician and a passion for a creative life. We have two flamboyantly talented daughters, three mangy looking but super-sweet dogs and five (5) very spoiled cats.

I am a 4th generation jewelry maker and student of arts and crafts, (basically anything handmade) -from painting to knitting, baking to quilting. Silversmithing 'sort of' happened by way of a very beautiful opal. I needed to have it set, but with my DIY instinct I took up the trade of silversmithing, and gaining a new found passion. The ring turned out pretty great, I must say... and the end result has become, "Lotus Moon Studio." Many pieces have been crafted since!

DISCOVER LOTUS MOON STUDIO:
An efficient 'one person' shop where truly OOAK (One of A Kind) handcrafted sterling and fine silver jewelry is created, using centuries old techniques and the highest quality materials available on earth.

ONLY THE BEST MATERIALS:
I purchase fine and sterling silver from the best sources on earth. (Fine silver is .999% pure silver where sterling is a mix 'alloy' of pure silver and a 'pinch' of copper giving it strength. Fine silver is bright in color and sterling has a warm gold undertone.) Both are used for my jewelry making, and make for the perfect foundation to showcase my one of a kind designs and beautiful stones and gems. I pick the highest quality stones available from local sources to the most exotic spots on our glorious planet. I am most partial to Australian opals and Indian Rainbow Moonstones, but enjoy many more commonly found stones such as River Jasper and Agate. I design each piece based on inspiration from the stone, a current favorite song, a fun childhood memory or one of my favorite mantras or mottos. Each piece is as individual as the story that flows from it, and absolutely no casting or molds are used. I have studied and learned the craft of silversmithing, using hammers, torches, files, stamps, textures, etc. I do not use pre-made forms or textured metals. I don't even use a polishing tumbler. I'm old school, Y'all! Most of my pieces are either hand painted or dipped into a patina bath, then meticulously polished and buffed with the finest jeweler's museum quality wax made. Some pieces are designed to be rustic and raw while others are finished to a high shine.

YOUR PURCHASE:
Please be mindful that each piece of jewelry is OOAK and each design dictates the finished work. Many of my pieces are left with oxides or hand painted with patina to show off the hammered textures. You can rest assured that each piece has been coated with the very finest jeweler's wax that protects the piece from humidity and further oxidation. Over time all sterling silver and other alloys will oxidize. Please take care if using a silver polish because most gems and stones can not survive a jewelry tumble cleaner or silver polish. If you do not like the natural oxidation, 'Penny Brite' is a non-toxic polish that can be used with a toothbrush and water, and is safe for most gems and stone. It's available online.

Please feel free to contact me for any care instructions or questions about your Lotus Moon Studio Jewelry pieces. I am always happy to share what I have learned!

MY COMMITMENT:
Simply put: If something's not right let me know! We together will work to make it right. My goal is to have my policies meet the same quality as the work I do. Period.

RETURNS, REFUNDS AND EXCHANGES POLICIES
*ALL ‘SALE’ ‘CUSTOM’ AND ‘RE-SIZED’ PURCHASES ARE FINAL AND DO NOT QUALIFY FOR REFUND*
*I MUST BE NOTIFIED WITHIN 24 HOURS, AND ITEM RETURNED WITHIN 10 DAYS*
*ITEM MUST BE RETURNED with tracking and insured IN ORIGINAL CONDITION, IN ORIGINAL PACKAGING. All other manner of packaging or condition will be ‘return to sender’ and disqualified for refund or exchange. To avoid this, follow the details listed below in the, “How to Return your Purchase.” This is nonnegotiable.*
MY ONLY GOAL is that your purchase arrives to you safe and sound, and you are delighted with it. I do what I can to make happy, returning customers. Because there are exceptions to everything under the sun, note the following refund policies, guidelines and restrictions. I am fair and sometimes even lenient, but unfortunately unable to reimburse everything. So… Please take time and read this carefully BEFORE you make a purchase.
CONTACT ME using “CONTACT SELLER” provided by the Etsy website. If you are seeking a refund, I must be notified within 24 hours of you receiving your purchase. (Not 2 weeks after you wore it to the prom and want your $120 back for senior Cancun trip. Yes, it’s happened.) Etsy conversations are delivered immediately to my smartphone and I respond within 24 hour, and generally within a couple. If you are my neighbor, my friend, or church member, just holler. Or knock on the door.

SITUATIONS THAT MAY or MAY NOT WARRANT REFUND, RETURN OR EXCHANGE:
If you will be OUT OF TOWN or unable to receive your package within 24 hours following delivery, please include that in the field provided at checkout. Just let me know when to ship it so it arrives after you have returned. I can’t be responsible for packages lost, stolen or delivered to incorrect address. Please understand I cannot manufacture a replica of your piece, with that ‘one in a million fabulous Australian opal.’ But I will file a postal claim, or beat up the neighborhood punk who took it. Unfortunately, I cannot refund your payment. I prefer to suspend shipping until you are safe and sound back home.
If there is SHIPPING DAMAGE to your purchase let me know within 24 hours of receiving your package. I ship using USPS tracking and Etsy insurance. I will follow up with these services and we will get it resolved as timely as possible. Please try and be patient because it involves slow postal refunds and insurance claims. I pay for ETSY Insurance on all purchases. It does not cover shipping, taxes or other fees. International postal shipping claims are more complicated and require more patience and possibly a xanax.
NOTE: Sometimes a package may get LOST IN ROUTE, misplaced at the postal office or left on the post truck. (Yep, it happened.) Notify me ASAP and I will file a claim. In these cases, you may not receive your purchase within 3 business days. Please understand, that is a postal issue. I do NOT offer refunds for packages that arrive after the holiday, after the birthday, or no longer ‘needed’ because that person is no longer in your life. (Yes, unfortunately that, too, happened.) I call this a “gift closet” addition. Or, own it! And wear it with pride.
I take my time with Item PHOTOGRAPHS and written DESCRIPTIONS, making certain my work is represented clearly and accurately. I use a simple light box and my android smart phone, a photo editor app and the official seller Etsy app. Monitors and phone screens may display colors a little differently; such is the nature of technology. I am not a photographer; I make jewelry, but I do pretty well in this one gal shop. If your purchase differs from my shop’s photo and/or description significantly, MY BAD, so please let me know. (Lord Help if I shipped the wrong item. Hasn’t happened yet, but it may one day.) All return shipping, etc will be my responsibility, and I will do all I can to make it right, whether by refund or exchange. My aim is to create and deliver beautiful work that you took the time to shop for, and used hard earned money to purchase.

I am diligent about SIZING RINGS CORRECTLY, and use several methods to check and recheck before posting the ring online. I also re-re-check the size before shipping. It is prudent to have your finger sized at a local jewelry store. It’s free and valuable info when purchasing pre-made, one of a kind rings. If you receive a ring that doesn't fit, (You purchased size 5 but remembered after the fact that was when you were in 7th grade.) please let me know within 24 hours of delivery. I do not re-size my rings once they are completed, buffed, burnished and sealed with wax. Most of my rings have heat sensitive stones set in them, and can’t tolerate a silversmith torch flame without damage to the stone. (If your ring is too small you may want to seek a local jeweler for re-sizing. In many cases, bands can be delicately stretched up a few sizes, can be done while you wait and for a minimal fee.) If the ring is too large, we may be able to work out an exchange. In such cases, please understand you will be responsible for return shipping costs and for the shipping of exchange. (Just like Target refuses to reimburse for my gas when I make a return! Darn it!)
I use the HIGHEST QUALITY MATERIALS available, using centuries old silversmith techniques. I am a fourth generation jeweler, so the old timers tell. I am MOSTLY self-taught through studying books, researching, experience and observing masters of my trade. It is possible, even while doing my best, for a PIECE TO BREAK under normal wear. I stand behind my work, ‘within reason’. (If Uncle Buddy runs over your new ring with his 4-wheeler, I am not responsible to refund your money. Uncle Buddy is.) However, IF UNDER NORMAL WEAR the item needs repair, contact me with details ASAP. (Hasn't happened yet, but could.) I will try to resolve the issue. (I can’t confront Uncle Buddy, though. Oh, who am I kidding???? Sure I can!)
FOR ANY OTHER REASON: Please notify me within 24 hours of receiving your item if you are not satisfied, have a change of heart, etc. I can’t make a promise, but I will, within reason, do what I can.
My goal is to have many happy, returning customers, and so far, that has been the norm. Thank you!

**************HOW TO RETURN YOUR PURCHASE***************
#1: You must notify me via Etsy's "contact seller” WITHIN 24 HOURS of receiving your purchase including details why you want refund. (Tracking info will help us both determine when it was delivered.) Upon receipt of return, item with be inspected and if in original condition, refund to a PayPal account will be promptly awarded and the buyer will be notified.

Just One More Thing:
Thank you for reading this very long-winded return policy and for understanding my goal is not simply to make pretty things but to share them and to make an income. I have had a marvelous experience so far as a working artist here on Etsy, and with a very few returns. Only recently have I realized the importance of a structured return policy, and thus, the creation of this. (Ya can’t imagine!) Please contact me before leaving a less than FABULOUS review. Give me an opportunity to not only make things right, but tempt you to return again! In the event you left negative REVIEW for the transaction before notifying me PLEASE CONSIDER an edit to include follow up and care given to make the situation right. I put my heart and soul into my work and business, and that quality and passion continues in committed customer service.

RESIZING:
A NOTE ABOUT RESIZING:
In an effort to bring my work to as many different size folks as possible I create OOAK pieces sized between US 4.5 (for pinkie ring or small fingers) to US 9. Experience has taught me it is very difficult to decrease a band that has been finished in patina and wax, but it is possible to increase width up to one size larger. Many of the stones I work with can not tolerate the solder torch which reaches temps >1500F. Therefore, I offer resizing up to one size larger- and that will be by mallet/mandrel method. Once a piece is resized it can not be returned. The size quoted in the description was taken by mandrel, and in US sizes. All commission pieces will be sold as Final Sale.
Check with your local bench jeweler for any other alterations to the ring. No refund/exchange is offered for a piece that has been altered.

HAPPY SHOPPING!
