Portrait of the Artist in her New England Studio
I create minimalist pieces that can be worn every day. I like to keep the designs simple, while offering my customers many options. (One size does not fit all!)
As a young girl, when I wasn't running through the forest or climbing on rocks, I was sitting at my desk making things. Impossibly tiny objects. Just because. We had no money, so I worked with paper, cardboard, toothpicks and glue. I made miniatures: a swing set, a six-seat Ferris wheel that went around and around, a castle with a working moat. Among other things.
In college, while studying art, I was introduced to hammers and saws and torches in my first jewelry making class. I thought, 'Now you're talking!' There was no looking back.
My trendy gold jewelry is made to order. I make one piece at a time, using the same techniques that gold smiths have used for centuries. I manipulate metal by forging, soldering, cutting, texturing and casting. Then comes the polishing which is done in up to 9 stages depending on the desired shine. All by hand. The end result is a piece of artisan jewelry made to be worn and cherished.
My unique, organic jewelry is popular and keeps me very busy. Each piece is one of a kind. My trendy bar necklaces and personalized disc necklaces are also popular and offered in many different sizes and metal types. Didn't find exactly what you wanted? Just ask!
