Thanks for a great pattern! I opted to use snaps instead of Velcro. Love the side zip!
If you can't find it, make it...
I have been making clothes and sewing my whole life. What started as crafting little doll dresses evolved into sewing pieces for my own wardrobe, and eventually an education in fashion design. I'm the person that made my own clothes because store-bought didn't fit, was out of my student budget, or just wasn't quite what I wanted. I always dreamed of having my own line but put that aside to work in another creative field after university. And then my sewing machine started to get lonely...
When I was expecting my first child I had a bit of a 'sewing renaissance' and dusted off my machine, determined to make my own stylish maternity wear and gifts for my little boy-to-be. I was shocked to see there were no patterns in the market for maternity or nursing-friendly wear; finding things I could make for my little man was a real challenge as well. Once again, I found myself making some essentials out of necessity. While expecting my second child, I was determined to make myself some lovely things and wanted to share with other 'I can/want to make that!' types out there. Smart, stylish sewing is my goal - not just for maternity, but for beyond as well.
Oh, and in case you're wondering - Louise & James are family middle names. That's me holding one of the many 'James' and I'm the "Loulou". Family and friends inspired me to start this little project and I hope they inspire yours.
