The beginning…
My son is a computer geek who found out about Etsy- you could do that Mum, he said!

The name…
Why Lovealittle? I had just returned from a week volunteering at a music camp. One of the songs stuck in my head…”Live-a-little, Love-a-little make a little dough…” it was a small venture so little seemed right and I knew I was just going to love the adventure, I also wanted some dough (money) so everything fitted and LOVEALITTLE was born.

My passion…
I am inspired by colour and textures and like a free range, intuitive approach to design work. I sell on Etsy to in some part finance my craft addiction...the need for materials, tools, books and courses to inspire. This means I can concentrate on running courses and raffles of my crafts to raise funds for charity. I love to support Grove House Hospice and Breakthrough for Breast Cancer raising money on Etsy through my “Pretty in Pink” pouch sales.

What keeps me going...
My greatest joy is to create wholesome items for children. I am happy to make dolls and work with natural fibres inspired by both the Waldorf tradition and my own children’s Montessori Nursery experiences. I am touched being able to make custom small dolls for people.
Working with a lady about to adopt a little girl from Ethiopia was such a privilege; the custom dolly was given to the little girl as a gift from her Mum to be during the adoption process. I have also been privileged to make mini dolls to help little children leave Mum behind as they go to big school and I truly love to be able to make a small difference

My bread and butter…
Quite simply my first pouch was created, as I couldn’t bear to put my new Mooncup into a drawstring bag with a tell-tale logo on the front. I posted the prototype on flickr to see if people thought it might be popular. I now have over 20 different designs to choose from and supply 3 online shops, 2 based in the UK and one in Sweden! The menstrual cup feminine hygiene product is environmentally friendly, made from silicone which lasts approximately 10 years and prevents contamination from tampon and towel bleaches and chemicals. Menstrual blood is simply collected and the cup emptied and washed before reinserting. At the end of the period the menstrual cup is boiled to sterilise and is then in need of a safe well ventilated place to live until the next period. This is where the pouches come in. My pouch making continues as the most popular line in my Etsy store; I donate sales of “Pretty in Pink” pouches to Breakthrough for Breast Cancer. I am happy to donate sales from this pouch throughout each and every year.

My giving back…
I like to promote the greenness of the menstrual cup by making the little pouches which have proved more successful than my wildest dreams.
I like to make sewing kits and paint your own ponies to encourage creativity in children.
I like to use washed, clean recycled fabrics where possible. These are always detailed in listings.
I love to volunteer in Nurseries where I can make a difference to pre-schoolers.
I love to work as a Centre Lead for Young Enterprise inspiring creativity through young people setting up businesses for one year.
I love to sing in Community Choirs raising money for charity and singing to Old Folks.
I like to share my God given craft talents with the whole world (according to Etsy) and am very thankful to sell on Etsy.
