Kayla was the most patient person with my order! I was the middle man and sending this as a gift. She sent me pictures and kept me updated and was so quick and responsive to messages. The design and idea was super cute and she finished early and shipped it off in special gift packaging. Thank you so much!!

These are so unique! I opted in for 3 random hooks but I absolutely love all of them! We are going to use them on our porch to hang up a towel, leash and coat for our dog this winter. We are excited to put them up. It will definitely beat throwing them on a chair. Thank you so much for creating something that matches my style perfectly! Will definitely purchase more in the future!

Unfortunately, the item I ordered didn't work out, but Kayla was AMAZING to deal with throughout the order and return. I would order from her again in a heartbeat!!
Stamping out love, one letter at a time
Being a stay at home mother is the best job ever, but it's also one of the most difficult. Each day is typically spent tending to the needs of everyone else, and greatly lacking in quality "me" time. It finally occurred to me that I needed something to really work on that involved some labor and creativity - something I could do that would ground me and give me self fulfillment.
So, in the Spring of 2012, I picked up a bucket of old silverware and decided to start making wind chimes. I couldn't stop! Each new piece I would create would punch me right into another phase of "what can I make now...what else can I do with these?!" I bought metal stamps and began to stamp the flatware. I began to saw through spoons, bend and twist forks, hammer shapes into them, and even use a blow torch and spot welder! I couldn't be happier now. It has made me a better wife, mother, friend, and woman. Thank God for art, family, and vice grips.
I chose the name Love Letters Upcycled because I feel that everything that is good in my life, all started with love letters. I met my husband 5 months before he was to deploy to Iraq for a 14 month tour in the Army. I wrote him one letter each and every single day for the entire time he was deployed. I believe that those "love letters" brought us closer together, turned us into husband and wife, and now into a mother and father. Love Letters, for me, was the only name that made sense, and the only name that truly resonated in my heart.
I take the time to gift wrap each item I sell. I love unwrapping things, even if I know what's inside - there is something special and almost ritual about getting to unwrap something. I love being able to give that feeling to each customer.
I invest my time and heart into each and every order, and in five years selling here on Etsy, I've never taken longer than a week to make and ship out a custom, made to order item.
When I do a custom or personalized order, expect me to email you. Expect that you will feel like a friend is making something for you - because that's how I look at it.
I love knowing that what I've made for you will be cherished for a lifetime.
I pride myself in every aspect of my work and I will always be honest and true to my craft. I'm here to create, and grow. I love to be able to provide a special something for someone who will love it.
Spending my time hammering away in my workshop is what fills my soul. Thank you for giving me a place to retreat to and call my own.
My name is Kayla and I'm a stay at home mother to two amazing, funny, smart, & adorable young boys. I enjoy working outside, creating new art out of old things, & playing the guitar. I love to read, hike, create, & be with my wonderful family.

Additional policies and FAQs
The items in my shop are all vintage silver plate and do require care. Please read the following information on how to take care of your special new flatware:
Every now and then with a dry cloth and silver polish, buff your piece up. Unlike stainless, your flatware will aquire patina if left unused for a time. I've polished your piece and I've also hand washed it for you before shipping - and you will want to continue to hand wash your piece, because it is silver plated and putting it in the dishwasher could cause it to ding and scratch.
The black coloring in the stamped letters will fade over time, however the impression will last forever. If you would like to make them nice and dark again simply fill in the letters with black food coloring paste or marker, or a non toxic marker. If you want to refill the letters in something that will not be put into your mouth (garden markers, wind chimes, etc.) just go ahead and use a sharpie marker! Then, use rubbing alcohol and a soft cloth to remove the excess. Always hand wash before before you use the item after you refill the lettering.
