Raisin' Up Art For Social Justice | Harvested From Tucson, AZ & Oakland, CA
This shop was born out of the craft time of Matice Moore and Shreya Shah. Our first item, the Black Lives Matter onesie, was inspired by Shreya's desire to make a gift for her nephew. Matice was immediately intrigued and set out to create the design. Folks saw the art through Shreya's social media and asked for us to create a t-shirt for organizers. The project soon morphed into a fundraiser through which we were able to give money to a variety of groups working in the struggle for Black Liberation. Shreya left the project a few months after its initiation. Her work can be viewed at: http://saltwatertraining.org
In 2017, Matice left their full-time non-profit work to develop and deepen their art practice, while continue to offer items through Love Letters. Matice runs Love Letters with additional support from a rad print shop in Tucson called the Gloo Factory/Peace Supplies. All profit from the shop currently goes toward buying paint and helping Matice keep a roof over their head :)
