About

Love Shalmai Watercolor Art Studio

Hello, my name is Shalmai (pronounced Shall-my) and I'm a watercolor artist. I enjoy painting flowers and I'm drawn to bright happy colors. I print my art on pillows, mugs and paper products. I'm originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico where my love for art began while I attended art school in old San Juan. I graduated from the art institute of Fort Lauderdale where I majored in Interior design, ( I used watercolors to create design plans). We moved to Indiana in 2010 where I began working as a wedding and portrait photographer, I decided to follow my love for art in 2014.

Being creative and finding a creative outlet is something that has been ingrained in my being. My love of flowers and fun colors started to emerge into art pieces and slowly my work began to be sold at local markets and shops. Besides running two business, I enjoy spending time with my husband Brandon and two boys, Julien and Jaden, (third baby on the way). I also enjoy reading, learning new art mediums, traveling, the ocean, finding everyday beauty, time with God, and lots of laughter.

I do what I love and have been blessed to experience the opportunity to have my work gracing others homes. Each piece is uniquely designed, painted, and printed by me, adding that special touch to every piece. The art work is always printed on fine archival matte art paper using an at home printer. The quality of paper and ink will allow for long lasting colors and imagery. You can stay up to date with new products by following me on Facebook or Instagram as well as the blog. I hope to hear from you soon!
