A block I'm working on for a new afghan. See more afghans in my shop.

About

I spend a lot of time with my kids, working hard to encourage them to be the best they can be, to help others, and to love themselves and their talents. Crocheting is great downtime while still making it possible to be there for my kids when they need me.

My mom taught me to crochet and knit when I was 11. Kitting was too slow for me so I tended to stick with crochet. After a while I forgot how to knit.

In the early summer of 2010, I made a cute Santa afghan and had some soft fuzzy yarn left over from the project. After trying to think what to do with it, I decided to try my hand at designing a Santa hat. I was happy to see that designing was easier than I expected and have learned to love it.

I mostly work with acrylic yarns since they're fairly inexpensive for both me and my buyers as well as easy to care for, but I do love to work with other fibers when I can get them.

My favorite things to make are afghans, but the smaller projects can be fun, too. I like to make a variety of styles, from the elegant, to the simple, to the fun. Sometimes my family will give me ideas, or just seeing something around my house or in nature will give me ideas.

My dream for when my kids are grown and moved out is to have a craft room where I can have as much yarn as my heart desires and so I can have a permanent place to take photos for my shop.

My name is Alaina. I am a homeschooling mom to 5 kids. I learned to crochet when I was 11 to combat the boredom that was my house on Sundays and have loved it ever since.

Payment
Custom orders are to be paid in full before I begin work. I will set up a custom listing for this. Custom orders $100 or more may be paid in 2 payments if you wish, half before I start work and half with shipping upon completion. Please be aware that custom items are non-refundable except in extreme circumstances.
Shipping
I ship USPS. I will ship within 2 days of receiving payment on pre-made items, although I try to get them out as soon as I can, usually within a few hours during regular business hours. Custom made items will be shipped within 2 days of completion of the item.

Patterns are download only and are non-refundable.

Tracking is included with all orders with the exception of patterns since they are downloaded. With orders over $50, I purchase insurance. With larger cost orders, this may require signature confirmation.

If shipping paid is $2 or more than what postage ends up costing, I refund some of the cost, keeping in mind that the mailer and gas do cost me above and beyond the postage cost.

If you'd like for me to ship anywhere other than the US or Canada, please let me know and we should be able to work something out.

Buyer is responsible for any customs charges, vat charges, or any other fees added by their country to be paid when you pick it up at your local post office. I can not be held responsible for any delays in customs.

If an insurance claim needs to be made, I will refund only when the buyer has completed his/her part of the claim.
Refunds and Exchanges
I take exchanges or returns within 2 weeks of receipt of item. Item must be returned in it's original condition. Please contact me before returning or exchanging item. Any return shipping will be paid by the buyer. Shipping will not be refunded. NOTE: ALL PATTERN SALES ARE FINAL.
