Announcement    Thank you so much for stopping by! I'm so happy to have you join me, as I update my shop with brand new, handmade items that I can guarantee you will enjoy!

I am thoroughly excited to finally start to showcase my new, "Inspired by TaraLynn" line of accessories. This line is a tribute to my younger sister, and best friend. She is an amazing mother to three beautiful children here on earth, and one angel in heaven. Life has surely dealt her an unimaginable deck of cards, yet the way that she has handled all of her trials and tribulations have been nothing short of the most beautiful inspiration I have ever witnessed. I felt the importance to acknowledge her amazing example, dedication, and faithfulness to never give up by dedicating this special line to her.

"Inspired by TaraLynn" will feature several different fashion accessories with charms that signify positivity, faithfulness, believing in oneself, family, and prayer.

Please feel free to keep stopping by, as I will be continuously adding items as I am able to get them photographed and uploaded. I hope you are as excited as I am for this new and uplifting addition!

Xoxo,
Kristina

About

It all started with a yellow rose....

This business is in loving tribute to my late Grandmother, by the maiden name of Lucia La Salvia. She always held a special place in her heart for me, and inspired everyone around her. She was a tiny little Italian lady (4'7" to be exact) with will-power and strength of a giant, and a heart of gold. My symbol for this business, in her memory, is a yellow rose.

The Significance of the Yellow Rose

My Grandma Lucy passed away suddenly from an unknown heart condition when I was just at the young age of 4 years old. Most 4-year-olds would not remember much from such a small period of their life; yet she and I always had this special connection, that I can still feel to this very day. The main thing that sticks out in my mind about her is how she used to always sing me the song, “The Yellow Rose of Texas.” I’m not quite sure why she chose that song, but I can still clearly hear her sweet voice singing it to me and see her dancing around.

The song stuck with me in my head for years, yet for some reason, I never really spoke about it to anyone. A few years ago, I was going through one of the toughest times of my life. My younger sister Tara, who has no memory of my grandmother as she was only an infant when she had passed away, was pregnant at the time. She knew she was having a baby girl, and had decided that she was going to name her “Lucia” after my grandmother, as she regretted never having the opportunity to really have known her. I loved the idea. On one of my very “down” days, she surprised me by showing up at my house with lunch, and one dozen yellow roses! (Remember, I had not discussed my memories of the song with anyone.) With the roses, there was a card attached. In toddler-looking handwriting, it said, “My mommy says you’re her best friend. Will you be mine too? And is it okay if I call you ‘Godmother’? Love, Lucia Kristine.” Needless to say, this was an EXTREMELY emotional moment. Not only was she asking me to be the Godmother of Baby Lucia, and surprising me with giving her a middle name after myself, but the fact that she brought yellow roses all tied everything together. I really felt my grandmother’s presence that very day.

I started crocheting these scarves on a whim as an extra hobby...and we all know "life" happens to all of us... I unexpectedly lost my job. NOW-this is NOT by any means a sob story for me, but a complete tribute to her, and hopefully an inspiration to others, as no matter what she went through in her life, this sweet, tiny little lady NEVER. GAVE. UP. She has inspired me to do what needs to be done to get through life...we all have minor "bumps" in the road, and this was just another bump. As a full time student, I found a way to incorporate my hobbies into my studies. As a business major, I developed a system to be able to still stay in school and work on finishing another degree and going on to pursue my Master's Degree in Business, work out a budget, and provide for my 2 little boys and myself. Has it been easy? Absolutely not. Does anybody have an easy life? Of course not! I am no different than anyone else. Bottom line: Where there's a will, there's a way!

Now, I cannot begin to explain how many times I will notice a yellow rose somewhere randomly, when I’m having a moment of struggle.
So with her inspiration, my mother's support, creative ideas and encouragement, my knowledge and will-power, I launched the business. So here we are!

I hope you enjoy the site and products, and always expect more to come! I am constantly creating new accessories and pieces as you will begin to see!
