Welcome to Lucinda Jayne Boutique! There is actually no such person as Lucinda Jayne. It is really a combination of my middle name and my sister's middle name. So, are there two people behind LJB? Not yet, but I'm leaving the door open for my sis to join me when she's ready. Here is the story of how I came about.

My name is Layla, and I am the Lucinda side of the business and the oldest sister. I am married to the most wonderful man. We met in college and have been best friends ever since. We have three gorgeous children. My two oldest are boys, ages 10 and 5, and my youngest is a girl who is three. I liked to sew in high school and even made my dress that I wore to a formal in college, but I had not touched a sewing machine in about 10 years. I love, seriously- LOVE, anything monogrammed because I have an unusual name and have never been able to find anything made with my name on it. Naturally, my daughter has an unusual name too, so I wanted to buy her beautiful things with her name on them. I started ordering personalized items from boutiques and paid an arm and a leg for them. I saw the products and loved them, but I just knew that I could make these things- and at a much cheaper price! I was convinced that making gorgeous things for children was something I wanted to do (in addition to my "real" job of being a teacher). My husband bought me an embroidery machine for my birthday, and the rest is history.

Returns and exchanges
I want you to be happy with your purchase. However, if you are not, please let me know. No refunds will be made on custom orders. If an error has been made on my part, I will do what is needed to correct the situation at no additional cost to you. If your dissatisfaction is due to an issue that was not a result of my error, we can discuss options to fix the situation, possibly at an additional cost to you. All issues will be handled on an individual basis and must be brought to my attention within 15 days of receipt. I am not responsible for items lost or damaged after they leave my possession (please see notes about insurance in the Shipping Policy notes).
Payment
Paypal and major credit cards are accepted through the Etsy site. All Custom Listings need to be paid within 72 hours or the listing will be deleted. All orders may be cancelled within 48 hours by contacting the seller provided materials for your order have not been purchased yet.
Shipping
In order to keep your shipping cost down, all items are shipped in the least expensive way possible. This is usually USPS First-Class and International First-Class. If you would like to upgrade your shipping to guarantee delivery by a specific date, please let me know through a conversation or in your note to seller upon purchase. I will either change the listing to accomodate or send you an invoice for the additional amount. Likewise, if you would like to purchase insurance for your package, please let me know. All custom and duty charges for international orders are the responsibility of the buyer. If you are a local customer and want to arrange pick-up instead of shipping, please use the code LOCAL at checkout to avoid shipping charges then contact me to arrange pick-up.
