Lucinda Rowe: Artist, Creator, Dreamer

Lucinda is an artist and illustrator based out of Roanoke, VA with a BFA in Drawing from Guilford College and an MFA in Children's Book Writing and Illustrating from Hollins University. During her time in graduate school she began to dream about being a full-time creator and opened her Etsy shop to sell a few small paintings to friends. It took another couple years of painting (and working day jobs) to find her voice and find the courage to launch products and become a full-time artist.

Lucinda paints with watercolor and small touches of gouache. Once the painting is complete, she scans it and prepares the file to become a tea towel, card, or sticker. Each painting stems from personal interest and desire; she strongly believes that passion shows in the completed piece.

Her work is inspired by nature and she hopes that it inspires others to step outside and explore the world around them. When she's not busy creating, she is often birding up and down the Blue Ridge Mountains, transforming her yard into a wild garden, and dreaming up stories.
