Announcement   My great-grandma Lucy did everything herself from butchering chickens to baking bread. Lucy's Soap was named in her honor. Our beautiful soaps are handmade in small batches on our family farm using the same strong work ethic and high standards of excellence employed during grandma's era.

Our certified organic farm is home to a beautiful herd of Alpine dairy goats. These girls are milked by hand twice a day. Their luxurious milk is the main ingredient in Lucy's Soaps. Since 2005, Lucy's Soaps have been lovingly made in small batches here on our farm. Lucy''s Soap storefront was erected on Etsy in 2011. The first soap selections were added in 2013. With over 100 soap molds to choose from, you'll find a Lucy's Soap for every occasion. There is nothing cuter than a baby goat! Lucy's Soap is made with the special goat milk produced here on our family farm by our very own Alpine Dairy Goats!
This is one of my favorite soaps and one of the hardest to make. Unlike most of my molds which are clear, this one is made of silicone and has many tiny cavities that can trap air bubbles.

About

Former City Girl Now Gets Her Goats

My husband Vince and I both grew up in cities. He in Milwaukee and I in Appleton, WI. When we married, we both had big dreams of living in the country. After purchasing 83 acres in the early 90's and building our home, we quickly began making plans to add animals to our farm.

First we had some of our Amish neighbors put up a small barn for chickens and goats. Next, other Amish neighbors erected what we affectionately refer to as our "big barn". That provided housing for a myriad of chickens and a team of Haflinger horses.

After I first began milking the goats, several things quickly became apparent. First, I loved the taste of goat milk but no one else in my family did. Second, given that I was the only goat milk drinker, we would soon have an overabundance of that creamy white fluid in our fridge.

Fortunately right about that time, I met Dela and Tony Ends of Brodhead, WI. They had been awarded a grant to teach several other farm families how to make goat milk soap. With notebook and camera in hand, I visited their farm and learned to make what has become one of my deepest passions - goat milk soap!

Our small herd of Alpine dairy goats are milked by hand twice a day. This fresh, high quality moisturizing milk forms the basis for Lucy's Soap.

Lucy's Soap is named after my great-grandma Lucy who was my inspiration to become a farmer.

All my life, I've been an animal lover. Growing up in the city made it challenging to have all the critters I craved. Fortunately, my great-grandma Lucy lived only an hour away. Her farm was where I cultivated my deep love of country living.

Welcome to Lucy's Soap! Our goal is for you to love your handcrafted goat milks soaps and to share them with friends and family as unique and useable gifts.

Each bar is handmade in small batches in a special dedicated soap kitchen here on our beautiful Wisconsin farm. Thus no two bars will be exactly the same. The moisturizing goat milk used in all our soaps comes from our small herd of Alpine dairy goats. These lovely ladies are milked by hand twice a day.

Lucy's Soaps are "french milled" which means they have been melted at least twice. Thus, they take longer to make (at least 6 weeks) than most handcrafted soaps. The benefit of this extra effort and time is that the soaps last longer and hold their scents longer.

I love making soap and am passionate about providing you with the best product possible. I also love hearing your feedback and welcome your sharing your reasons for seeking out handcrafted soaps.

10% of all Lucy's Soap sales are donated to Change 30. This organization works in Russia with children who are aging out of the orphanage system. Our two sons were adopted from Russia in 1998 and 2001 so this group is very dear to our hearts. Find them online at http://change30.org/
