I make plant-based & great smelling candles, soaps, and personal care products.

When I was a child, I was gifted with three cosmetic crafting kits: one for lipstick, one for nail polish, and one for perfume. Within hours, I had exhausted the supplies. I was hooked.

Seeing my fascination with makeup, my mother took me to the drugstore and let me pick out an array of eyeshadows, powders, blush, and lipsticks. I got a pretty zippered pouch to keep it all in too. While it was fun to play dress up in her clothes and jewelry, soon I was blending different shades of lipstick together to make my own unique creation.

Bath time was always a favorite, and I had a full complement of bath toys to enjoy. Mister Bubbles was the preferred bubble bath, but it was too strong for my sensitive skin and I would break out in painful blisters after extended exposure to most detergents and soaps.

When I was a teenager, I was obsessed with having clear skin. I fell in love with skin care products. The first time I had a facial was pure bliss.

I went vegan in October of 2013 and soon learned about how ingredients made from animals are in so many things, including soaps, lotions, and cosmetics. One of the first books I read, "Skinny Bitch: Home, Beauty & Style" detailed all the potentially harmful (even cancer causing!) ingredients common in makeup and personal care products. I still got the painful blisters between my fingers from extended use of soaps and detergents, so I decided to start over.

I purchased only cruelty-free and vegan skin and hair care products. Soon, I included natural housecleaning and laundry soaps as well. I felt great, and soon my skin looked great too. I knew I was on to something great.

Unfortunately there were still items on ingredient lists that I could barely pronounce. I wondered if I could make something simpler and better. This is how LuluBelle's was born - I make every item in my shop in my vintage kitchen (I don't have a microwave!) by hand. I test everything on my self as well, never on animals. I try to use organic elements where I can. My aesthetic is global, but with farm girl sensibilities.
