Finally All My Own!
Always wanted to own my own shop, and now that I've discovered etsy, I DO! I'm having sooo much fun with this, and have learned sooo much too!
Several years ago, my sister opened an upscale gift shop in Key West. I sooo wanted to be a part of it. Would have loved to have been an equal partner in her business, but logistically and financially, could not do. I was lucky to get invited, and to go on her first buying trip with her. It was to the Atlanta Gift Mart. We worked so hard, discovering wonderful show rooms filled with great stuff, and had so much fun while doing so. You could say, we shopped til we dropped! Good thing for me though, it was on her dime! LOL!
I decided to make my first shell frame, purely for myself. When my sister saw it, she asked me to make some for her shop. She had been ordering shell and sea glass items from a popular gift vendor, but as it turned out, was unhappy with their quality. This is how I got started. My love of the beach, and collecting shells on my own excursions to the shore helped!
I discovered etsy on my own...pure luck! Surfed the sight, bought a few things, and thought, why not set up shop for myself! There's sooo many talented artists and shop purveyors, I'm so lucky to be part of it! Etsy, where have you been all my life!?#!?#
Owner, Maker, Designer, Curator, Vintage Photo...lol !
I'm so glad that I discovered etsy! I had created shell and sea glass home decor items, for my sister's shop in Key West. Love vintage too, so added in those finds as well! I love an eclectic mix of new and old, and pretty much anything coastal!
