My designs reflect my personal taste: I hope you will find something you like as much as I did when I created it!
Every item you see has been hand-made by me and since I am mostly using my own hand-spun and hand-dyed yarns & my own patterns, they are truly one-of-a-kind unique items.
My knitting patterns are specifically designed with hand-spun yarn in mind:
'hand-spun yarns, artfully created by hand and from the heart'
The patterns are created to encourage your own artistic expressions & experimental creativity.
Please contact me directly with any questions or issues you might have to give me a chance to work with you, instead of just leaving negative feedback on your purchase.

About LunamuseFibers
The ‘Modern (Luna)Muse’
“Lunamuse Fiberart”
Fashionable contemporary knitwear
Deeply feminine and elegantly functional
Designs dedicated to the flow of soulful harmonies
from the raw living fiber in my hands
to the finished garment,
embodying a woman’s authentic essence,
allowing her spirit to soar freely,
transformed and transcended -
while staying connected to and
acknowledging her roots in (r)evolution”
My designs compliment the
‘Modern (Luna)Muse’
intelligent, creative, passionate,
with delicate strength of the heart,
inspiring and pursuing creative endeavors
while remaining true to her emotional integrity -
despite today’s epidemic disconnect of the intellect from the heart
***********************************************************
Originally born & raised in Germany, Manuela got transplanted to the United States in 1995. Her largest moving box contained her faithful Ashford Traditional Spinning Wheel, tons of knitting needles and pounds of fibers in various stages of incarnation.
Manuela’s love affair with knitting started at the tender age of 5. She taught herself to knit and got hooked on knitting & crocheting before she learned reading, writing and basic math skills. Thankfully she knows those by now too, which comes in really handy for following patterns & designing her own.
Spending her school & university years refining her knitting skills, Manuela eventually started to make her own yarns in her early 20’ies. She had transferred from Languages, Arts & Journalism to Social Therapy, and was working at the time with developmentally disabled adults in a Camphill Community in Germany and the United States.
For many years she was running homes, created care-plans and provided a soulful therapeutic environment in sheltered workshops which focused on processing raw wool, dying fibers with natural plant & mineral dyes, spinning, knitting, crocheting & weaving.
Manuela has been part of a local artisan scene for as long as she can remember. From Germany’s royal background of Barbarrossa’s castles to New England's rich crafts to beautiful & sunny Sonoma County in Northern California to avantgarde Asbury Park at the Jersey Shore to now the small island 7 miles out at sea off the coast of Maine, she always allows local elements to be part of her design process, every piece of land calling on a different part of the soul waiting to be expressed.
One can see Manuela's rich ancestral background and her extensive cultural travel experiences mirrored in the creation of her exquisite hand-spun yarns and her hand-knit designs which both give witness to extraordinary craftsmanship as well as her very own distinct design lines celebrating womens’ bodies in all shapes and forms.
Now in her early 40’ies, Manuela is focusing on developing her own knitting patterns & designs, specifically designed with handspun yarn in mind: 'handspun yarns, artfully created by hand and from the heart'
Lunamuse Fiberart's Knitwear Designs have been previously displayed up and down both coasts and most recently at various independently owned boutiques along the Jersey Shore, as well as Manhattan, NY and are now available exclusively in the Lunamuse Showroom in beautiful Eastport, Maine.
In her other lives Manuela is a devoted mom, wife, yoga teacher, writer & singer - a truly ‘Modern (Luna)Muse’, following the inspirations of her heart.

Luna Muse... creative inspirations that are truly truly subject to my personal taste and influences. I love to embark on the journey to create with my hand-spun yarns...
Originally born & raised in Germany I got transplanted to the United States in 1995. My biggest moving box contained my Ashford Traditional Spinning Wheel, tons of knitting needles and pounds of fibers in various stages of incarnation: raw, washed, carded, natural, dyed, spun, knitted…
I fell in love with knitting when I was 5. I taught myself to knit from my mom’s one and only knitting book and basically got hooked on knitting & crocheting before I learned reading, writing and basic math skills. Thankfully I know those by now too, it really comes in handy for following patterns & designing your own :)
I started to make my own yarns in my early 20ies. At the time I worked with developmentally disabled adults in Camphill Communities, first in Germany, then in the United States. I was running sheltered workshops and teaching the basics of wool processing, dying of fibers with plant based dyes, spinning, knitting, crocheting & weaving.
Now I am at the end of my 30ies and no longer work in a sheltered workshop, but still create my own yarns & knit designs and share my love and enthusiasm for fiber whenever I can.
In my other lives I am a mom, wife, yoga teacher/practitioner & singer…
My design approach is absolutely intentionally inspirational & magical... I keep myself open to the wonders around me and draw from there, be it nature, the wonderful fibers that go through my hands or colors... there is beauty to be found everywhere and sometimes I am blessed enough to catch some of it and weave it eternally into my work.
Lunamuse Fibers offers a variety of finely hand-crafted garments, hand-spun yarns & hand-carded spinning batts including fibers from sheep, mohair goats, alpacas & llamas that are kept animal-friendly like pets and are fed an organic diet.
Some of my fiber sources include Sandy's famous Homestead Wool & Gift Farm, Cory's Lincoln Longwool Sheep and Grandview Goats Farm.
No animal has to give up its life to give us fibers to wear.
Fibers are sampled extensively for quality, uniqueness and character and then processed by me almost always and only by hand. The only tools used are a washing machine to clean, a stainless steel pot to dye and a hand-cranked drum carder to mix fibers & colors with.
Occasionally man-made fibers or plant-based fibers such as tencel, viscose, bamboo, cotton or hemp are added to the melting pot.
The less electronic & automatic tools used in fiber processing,
the more of the fiber's natural healing & warming qualities stays alive.
Hand-spun yarns have a warmth and comfort which touches the heart that is hard to match by machine-produced yarns.
