Then, we send the digital file to the 3D printer to create a plastic model. -

First a digital design is created. -

Once the plastic model is complete, we create our molds. -

From there, we mix and pour our concrete. Each planter is stamped with our Lunar Black logo. -

Once the concrete has fully cured, we remove the molds and marvel at the uniqueness of each piece.
Lunar Black was formed because we believe that through action, dreams can become a reality.
Why "Lunar Black"? Well, as a kid, I always loved space. I dreamed (ok, continue to dream) of exploring the moon one day. But honestly? The name happened because I liked the way it sounded. Over time, the symbolism just sort of stared me in the face.
The lunar cycle symbolizes the ebb and flow of our entire existence. Dreams often feel so much bigger than ourselves, but the lunar cycle reminds us that as time passes and things come and go, those dreams are a constant. We can obtain them, with a little hard work and a lot of heart.
So here we are. Now, let's talk about what it is we do.
At Lunar Black, we create handmade concrete products for your home. Each item is handcrafted from start to finish. All of our products are inspired by the comfort and joy that HOME brings. We've put a lot of thought and energy into each and every creation to ensure you're getting a one-of-a-kind product that's both beautiful and durable.
We take pride in the amount of time we've put into perfecting everything about our products. Hours of time pouring prototypes using different thicknesses, sizes, and concrete types. Creating exceptional products is the cornerstone of our mission as a small business.
One of the things we love about working with concrete is that each piece is completely unique. As the concrete cures, tiny air bubbles add texture to the final product. Even as these tiny pieces of imperfection show through, the strength of the product is never compromised. We love that no two planters are exactly the same.
Our color options are a play on the lunar cycle. Full Moon embodies the brightest moon of all. New Moon mirrors the darkest night, when the smallest amount of moon shows. Quarter Moon symbolizes the period between the new and full moon. All planters have the option for a heart shaped drain on the planter bottom. You can choose this option when you add the item to your cart.
We've started with places that are close to our heart and those who have large populations. However, custom planters can be made from virtually any geographic region. In the future, we hope to offer all 50 states and most nations. Please contact us with any custom item requests!
