Welcome! I am glad you made it to the shop, come in and have a look around.
Everything you see is made of recycled material. Fashion can be more sustainable than it is right now; by using material longer or once again we take a step in the right direction.
Many drops make an ocean..............
Let me tell you a little about sizing of the skirts and how they come together.
Sizing is not a standard thing, quite the opposite I would say.
In Holland I am a Medium size (EU 38 but sometimes 40-42) but in Italy an XL!
I mention (Extra) Small, Medium and Large as indication but please read the description underneath the pictures and compare the exact size of the skirt with something similar in your closet.
You can wear A-line skirts high waisted but also lower on the hip, just what you like.
The hip width depends on how high waisted you wear your skirt and can be measured at 18-22 cm (or 7"-9") below the waist.
When you measure your own skirt; lay them flat and measure from side to side. Then double the number for circumference.
Of course I can also make a skirt to your specific wish and size.
Please send a mail to start the process.
I buy a lot of vintage fabrics as coupons or in limited amounts of yardage.
I love old tablecloths, tea towels and everything that is embroidered.
I visit my local thrift shops a lot and am thrilled with what I find. Most of the things are not used up and can certainly be re-used.
Everything is laundered and checked upon arrival in my studio.
And then the party begins, I mix and match, throw in a little embroidery and shake it all up, et voila; a new LUREaLURE skirt is born!

5 out of 5 starsLove it. It's well made, original, unique and fits like a glove (but then a skirt). It makes one wonder why we'd ever buy anything mass-produced ever again. Also, the seller is great and so is her attention to detail.

Quirky stuff for cool ladies
Okay I make stuff for theater.
But money is tight and time is short.
So I need to find things and visit the thrift shop a lot.
I am amazed by what is available.
Piles of embroidery, tablecloths, batiks, shelves full of clothes, dresses, suits, you name it, some worn but many ready for the next round.
I love fabric from the Sixties and Seventies but also from other countries and cultures like batik or wax prints.
When I travel I always bring fabric back.
To be quite honest with you my shop started one morning when I stumbled upon a huge pile of embroideries, that were to become pillows, in my local thrift shop.
I realized one person had been cross stitching away for many a night and I could not leave them there.
Some months later we made a theater show for kids in school and we decided to put them on pillows. I gladly used the embroideries but felt I had to do something to them to make them up to date.
I started framing them with other fabrics and liked it so much I started buying more.
There you have it: my Etsy shop.
But now I'm also using my other fabrics to make skirts and all of a sudden I'm part of this amazing community.
I love it!

I used to be a costume and set designer for theatre. Recently I am more into upcycling, recycling, and teaching. Fashion can be so much more durable! I love to make quirky stuff and have a weak spot for embroidery and vintage fabrics.
