5 out of 5 starsBeautiful clock! Love that it is unique and hand crafted. I am going to use it as a desk clock and display it on a little photo/plate easel. Super happy with this purchase!

5 out of 5 starsSuch a beautiful piece of art. I used it to stack handmade soaps, wrapped with burlap and a tag with a heart and their initials on it. The soaps fit perfect, and my daughter has a beautiful crafted piece of pottery for display or use as a small serving tray. The color was also perfect because her wedding colors are pale yellow. It was perfectly packaged so it would not get damaged in shipping. Thank you!!!!

Every ceramic piece used in my jewelry is a handmade original piece.
-
Pieces on the pottery wheel often get altered or handles added the next day.
-
Hand carved linoblocks are often used to add texture to slabs before the form is created.
-
Drying clock faces is a long process so that they do not warp.

All of my ceramics are fired twice. The first is a firing to Bisque then the second is a higher firing for the glaze.
Handmade pottery meant to be used every day.
It's just me from start to finish. I am that curious bird from the initial glimpse of an idea to the bubble wrap shipping of every product. I like to create functional pottery that is made to be used every day. My design choices keep that in mind so I work with Stoneware clay which is strong enough to handle daily use. I formulate my own glazes, fire the work myself and enjoy every minute. It is curiosity that drives me to create, the 'what if I try this' that leads to new designs. I am fascinated with texture and use everything from carved wooden adornment from antique dressers to hand carved linoblocks when impressing designs into soft clay. On the other hand, I also adore modern clean design so to rectify the dichotomy of these two aesthetics, I often use clean lines and strong forms combined with intricate surface texture or glazes with interesting depth of colour.
As for me the person, I grew up in the Saskatchewan prairies as a farm girl who loved making things with her hands. Somehow I ended up living in Toronto with a set of twin boys and a pottery studio.
