QUESTIONS???
If you have any questions about an item, or policies, please ask away. I want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase of this fine artisan jewelry. I am happy to answer any questions or clarify any policies before your order.

ARTISAN JEWELRY
All of the work in my shop is hand made by me with my own two hands. There may be tiny variations from the photograph for items that I make when when you order them. This is the nature of hand made, only a machine can make an exact replica. Many items are in stock, one of a kind and will be the exact item you see in the photo. If you have any questions about your piece, just ask, I am happy to answer any questions!
***Patinated or oxidized jewelry varies quite a lot from piece to piece. The process and outcome is very organic, and only somewhat controllable by me. In some cases, the photo will show a tint or color variation that can not be exactly reproduced. If you have preferences for patinated items, please ask and I will let you know if I will be able to reproduce that color. Dark black, blues, and goldie-browns are fairly easy to reproduce. Greens, purples, magentas, or a mottled look with several colors happens more "magically"
and while I may be able to approximate a similar patina to one shown in the photograph, it will not be an exact replica.
As noted above, some photos are of one of a kind, in stock pieces, and you will receive the piece in the photo. If you have questions please don't hesitate to ask.

More Metal Clay Information:

After years of working with polymer clay and painting, I discovered Precious Metal Clay (PMC) and haven't looked back. PMC is made from fine particles of silver (some of it is recycled) an organic binder and water to form a smooth clay. After forming, the item is fired in a kiln at 1650 degrees, the binder burns away completely and leaves nothing but the silver or gold. This silver is called fine silver (.999) The gold is 22 karat. (Sterling silver, by contrast, is only .925.)

Each piece is individually created by me, from my own artwork, from real leaves, a variety of textures, some vintage buttons and sea creatures. I love organic, flowing forms, abstract forms and I have even been inspired by architectural forms from antiquity and the incredible paintings of Georgia O'Keeffe and the work of Judy Chicago.

For those who purchase an item for over $50, I will add a complimentary sunshine polishing cloth as a thank you!

The Artist reserves all reproduction rights. No work may be reproduced in any manner whatsoever with out express, written consent of the Artist.

Thanks for looking and come back soon!!!

About

Artisan Jewelry Inspired by Nature, Sealife, Architecture and the Sensual Flower Paintings of Georgia O'Keeffe

Welcome to my Etsy shop!

You can meet me here in a brief youtube video from a RAWartists show:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dIheiQjox3c

and on instagram I am at lynncobb22

New work can be found at www.lynncobb.com

I have been an artist for decades, I painted and made jewelry from polymer clay, but it wasn't until about 9 years ago that I discovered "my" medium, metal clay. This new product called Precious Metal Clay is Eco Friendly and made from about 90% microscopic particles of recycled silver, an organic binder and water. It is sculpted, texturized, molded and formed as with any clay and then kiln fired at 1650F, just a little under the melting point of silver, the binder burns away and leaves pure .999 "fine" silver which glows just a little brighter than sterling, which is only .925. An added benefit to this purity, is that fine silver is far far slower to tarnish!

My work is inspired by nature (the leaf motif pieces are exact replicas of the actual leaves molded to form earrings and pendants) sealife (corals, shells molded and my own abstract fish designs.) I have always been intrigued by architecture and the myriad homes we humans choose (my Castles and Huts series features rings, pendants and earrings.) The yurt ring was featured in Jewelry Artist magazine, May/June 2012 issue. Medieval Castle rings were featured in Belle Armoir Winter 2013 and Castle Charms in Art Jewelry in Sept 2015.

My favorite work currently is my Flower series. These spectacular flowers have been inspired by the sensual work of Georgia O'Keeffe and Judy Chicago, brought to wearable scale. I was honored when one of these was selected as a finalist in the prestigious, international Saul Bell Design Award competition, 2011. Art Jewelry magazine, featured an article on my process for making these stunning flowers in their special issue, Metal Clay Jewelry 2012. The same flower was also included in Showcase 500 Art Necklaces, a beautiful collection of neckwear by artists from around the world in myriad mediums.

I not only sell my work here on Etsy, but also at fine craft shows around the San Francisco Bay Area, and at a galleries in Berkeley and Solvang, CA. See links to local upcoming markets for my next local fair.

FOR INTERNATIONAL ORDERS, PLEASE READ!
Some countries will require that you pay additional duty, taxes or fees when purchasing items from the US or other countries. Please be aware that these are additional costs that I cannot control. I will not, under any circumstances, falsify US Customs forms. My work is designed and hand made by me and priced to account for this artisan work. Please do not ask me to discount or adjust my prices to help off set your costs in shopping internationally.
Please check on your country's policies and costs before placing your order, here is a handy site:

http://www.dutycalculator.com/new-import-duty-and-tax-calculation

***I ship Priority mail to international destinations. If you prefer another type of shipping, please convo to discuss your needs and costs before purchase. FIRST CLASS is slower, but cheaper and no tracking. EXPRESS is faster and more expensive.
Canadian shoppers: Priority mail to you is lower. I will refund the difference to you after purchase.

International orders can take up to 6-8 weeks to arrive! This is especially true during heavy postal times, such as holidays, labor actions, political disturbances, etc. Please order early to assure arrival in time. Some countries seem to process international orders quite quickly through customs and delivery, even as little as a week from leaving my post office, but one can never count on such quick shipping.

FOR CUSTOM ORDERS, PLEASE READ

I am happy to work with you to customize any item. If I am able to do the work, I will let you know and we can discuss ideas for your one of a kind item. If it is work that I do not feel comfortable with or a skill I do not have, I will let you know, so that you can find an artisan with that skill. I want you to be 100% happy with your new piece.

For custom rings, please be sure of your size before ordering. Most of my rings can not be resized. If you have ordered a wrong size, and wish to return the ring, it will be subject to a 30% restocking fee, and your return shipping will not be refundable. Please be sure of your size before ordering. I recommend having your size determined professionally from a reputable jewelry store, keeping in mind the width of the ring you will be ordering from me. If you are ordering a wide band ring, consider that most people prefer a wider band in a half to whole size larger. Also consider that many things can change your finger size slightly, on an almost daily basis: weather, diet, medications, hormones, sports activities are some examples. Also consider how loose or tightly you like a ring to feel.
I also offer an inexpensive ring sizing gage that I can send you to check your size. You may purchase it, and if you order a ring, the cost will be deducted from the ring purchase. These gages work most accurately for narrower rings, as noted above, most people prefer a wider band to be slightly larger.
If the custom order is my mistake, I will correct the problem at no cost and your return shipping will be credited back to you.
If for any reason you wish to return a custom item, please let me know within 48 hours of receiving it. And please return it within 2 weeks of notifying me of your intention to return it. A restocking fee of 30% will apply to ALL returned custom orders.

FOR RETURNS
I want you to be 100% satisfied with your purchase. In stock items which are not customized for you are returnable and will be refunded, minus shipping costs. Your shipping cost for return will not be refunded. If I have made a mistake, or the item is not as you ordered, I will fix the problem or give you a complete refund and also credit for your costs in returning.

Please note that upgraded shipping costs are not refundable. If there is a problem that is my fault, I will discuss shipping refunds on a case by case basis.

If tracking and insurance was included when I mailed the item to you, please return it using the same method and insurance. I can not refund without tracking information, if I have not received the returned item.
Please notify me within 48 hours of your intention to return an item, and please return it within 2 weeks. As noted above, custom items which are returned are subject to a 30% restocking fee, to cover the cost of the materials, as I will be unable to resell the item.

Additional policies and FAQs
I am happy to do custom orders or to modify any piece in the shop. Let me know what you like and we can work it out. I am also willing to switch chains and in many cases there may be no additional charge. All pendants will not necessarily work with all chains, and some chains will require an upgrade. Just ask if you would like a chain change or upgrade.

All of my silver jewelry is made using silver metal clay. Most earrings, pendants, necklaces and bracelets are .999 pure silver. This is also known as "Fine Silver." Findings such as ear wires, jump rings and chains are "Sterling Silver" .925 pure. I am currently making rings using a new silver metal clay blend which is .960 pure. This is stronger than .999 fine silver which makes it an excellent choice for the daily wear of rings. Please note that some of my OOAK rings, in stock, were made before the availability of .960. They were made with .999 with thicker bands which will hold up well.
Patination or oxidation can be added to any silver jewelry in my shop, just ask. If a piece is shown as already having patination, in most cases, it can be recreated with a shiny finish. The exception is for OOAK patinated pieces. Those can be re-fired in the kiln to remove the patination, but may, over time, darken more quickly than is normal for fine silver, as an artifact of the original patinated finish.

All of my .999 and .960 silver is fired in a kiln at 1650F for up to 2 hours. In a modern day alchemy, the binders in the original metal 'clay' are burned away, resulting in solid silver jewelry. The gold is also from metal clay, and when fired results in 22 karat gold. In most cases, I have added layers of gold over the silver before firing, creating a beautiful mixed metal piece. A few of my pieces are solid 22 karat gold. (Tiny castle pendant and the spinner element of the mixed metal spinner ring are examples of High Karat Gold.) Again, I am happy to work with you on any custom variation, with or without gold.

Most of the gems in my shop are natural stones from the earth, from reputable dealers. Only the sage leaf rings and the stacking rings come with lab grown cz stones, available in many colors. In many cases, I am able to customize any piece with a gem I have in stock or upgrade the cz lab grown stones to natural gems. Additional charges may apply, depending on the gem chosen.

I reserve the right to change any policies without advanced notice but will try to give a longer notice when possible.
