About

Lynn Cyr, Fine Artist

Passionate about life and everything around me, I see beauty everywhere. I am especially fascinated by the light and the effect it has on shape and color. There's a certain subtle sensuality in my 'unstill' lifes. The way the light shines on the edge of a pear, or the colors that I see reflected in a bowl, these are the small details and the emotion that fascinate me and that I try to capture in my paintings.

I started drawing at the age of 5, and in 2001 I rediscovered my passion for painting, and have been creating on a regular basis since then. Today I prefer the figurative approach in my work, where each brush stroke aims to faithfully reproduce the flavor of my subjects, while still remaining painterly. I'm always looking for simplicity in its purest form and originality is very important to me. My paintings do not follow the same recipe; each one has its special flavor and spice added to it.

A driven person by nature, I'm always looking for new challenges. I started with watercolors by painting from photos, and now I paint in oils directly from life. I recently gained an interest in plein-air painting, and I intend to do more of that. I'm constantly renewing myself. Social and cheery, being surrounded by other artists feeds my creative spirit; interactions with the public, that is where I feel alive as an artist.

Shop policies

Last updated on March 31, 2016
A big piece of my heart goes into each work that I create, so it's very important to me that you love your purchase as much as I loved creating it.

I'm a very conversation-friendly seller! If you have any questions at all about any item in my shop, please contact me and I will respond very quickly - usually within 24 hours, but most of the time within mere minutes (depending on the timezone).

I LOVE to create, and also LOVE to make my collectors happy... if you run into any issue or want to know something specific about a piece, just drop me a note! :)
Returns and exchanges
If you are truly unhappy with your purchase, and/or the item arrives damaged or in unsatisfactory condition, please contact me within 3 days of receiving, and I will provide you with either a full refund, or an exchange, depending on the circumstance (you'll need to pay for the return shipping and make sure it's very safely packaged). I do my best to provide accurate photos and descriptions, but I also realize that sometimes mistakes can happen!
Shipping
My shop is based out of Maine (since I literally live right on the border), and most of my collectors are in the U.S. However, if I find that I can get your item to you quick by shipping it from Canada, I can do that as well. I will always communicate this to you in advance if that's the case.

I pack all my paintings very carefully, and have never had any issues with damage. I also include tracking and insurance for the sold value, just in case.
Additional policies and FAQs
Since each piece is personally painted by me, there may be some inconsistencies and color variations that cannot be seen in the photos. If you have any questions or concerns about the quality or colors of a painting, please feel free to contact me.
