About

Creating my art is my joy.

I've been drawing, painting, jewellery making and collecting since I was a little girl. I needed a place to sell my many different creations so I opened my Etsy shop in 2011 but didn't really start to manage it until October 2013.
I had become ill and in chronic pain and found that working on my creations and shop helped. So my days start between 1am and 4am with a cup of tea and trip outside to my studio where I work 12 to 16 hours a day on my shop and creating my beautiful items.
I love to paint any subject that inspires me. I use mostly acrylic paint. But I do dabble in watercolors, chalk pastel, pen and pencil.
My jewellery pieces are just so much fun. Putting together different colors and textures. They are like wearable art. I also like to rework vintage pieces of jewellery into sun catchers and things.
I like to sketch out my designs first. Then I lay them out on my trusty bead tray. But what I end up with is usually quite different from my original sketch and very unique.
I love to use Gemstones in my work because as a child we would go fossicking for Gold, Sapphires and semi precious Gems. They were the best holidays I can remember.
I also go to garage sales and auctions looking for treasures. And every now and again I get something really special that I can list in my shop. I remember my parents taking me to look for Antiques and I was always told, "don't touch". Well now I can touch.
It's a fantastic feeling when someone buys from my shop. It feels like such an accomplishment.
This is my life's work and what I'm all about. I have so many ideas running around in my head that I don't think I'll ever be able to stop.
One day I'd like to be able to support myself on the earnings from my shop. This is my goal.
* UPDATE SEPTEMBER 2015:
I finally have my diagnosis for my illness. It is called Fibro Myalgia and Global Pain Syndrome. Sadly I have had them way to long to be cured and it is in all my limbs.
I will always be in pain, always burn and cramp. But I can live with that because there are therapies for me to try.
I am struggling to keep the use of my left hand at the moment so this couldn't have come at a better time. How do I make jewellery with only one hand??? Lol
Now there are lots of appointments at the hospital, Doctors, Physio etc. So please forgive me for my longer shipping times. I'm working on improving enough to keep my shop open and hopefully cut the times down again.
I am truly happy. I love what I do. I love my customers. I am truly blessed.....
* UPDATE NOVEMBER 2015
I am sad to say that I will be slowly winding up my business. The problem with my left hand has made it very hard to make my jewellery and I am unable to paint much now as my right hand is affected to.
Also the stress is taking it's toll on me. I am having to downsize my home and concentrate on keeping myself mobile etc.
I am heavily discounting many items to sell. I would eventually love to keep selling my vintage items but we will see what happens.
The support of my customers, some of whom have become friends, has been wonderful. I appreciate every one of you.
I am still happy. I still enjoy my life and am truly blessed.

Hi. At My High Street Boutique you will find original paintings, cards, drawings, vintage items, sun catchers, hand crafted jewelry, altered art and assemblage art and jewelry and much more.

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy gift cards
Payment
Payment: I accept Direct Checkout, Credit Cards, Debit Cards and Etsy Gift Cards. I also accept Pay Pal.
If payment is not received within 48 hours of order, I will contact you to confirm that you still want the item.
If no response is received after another 24 hours, then the sale will be canceled.
Shipping
I ship using Australia Post for all my smaller items.

For my very large paintings on a wooden frame I use a courier or preferably remove canvas and send rolled in a postal tube which is much cheaper.

For my medium sized paintings and more expensive items I use Registered post. That way we both can track the parcel.

Expensive items will be insured.

If you want insurance for smaller items just let me know and I'll adjust the price for you.

Local Australian shipping times are usually 4-6 days but will probably take longer around Christmas.
For international shipping I would allow 2 weeks to 30 days. So far all packages have arrived within 2 weeks. But again it may take longer around Christmas.

Because of illness I have had to set my handling times to 5 to 7 business days. But I do ship quicker most often.

The customer must pay any customs duty. Legally I am not allowed to pay this.
I've heard that some countries like the UK have to pay a customs/VAT fee. So please be aware of this.

I now video my packaging process for each item to make sure there are no mistakes or confusion about how well an item is packaged.
