My name is Olivia Ziter, and I am the artist behind the macramé! Thank you so much for being here.


I am originally from the teeny, tiny state of Vermont, and began my journey to California in crazy Covid-19 times! I was originally living in San Francisco, and when things started to get weird, I needed a “Covid-hobby!” Alas, along came macramé.


I went back to Vermont for a bit in between everything, and that is where Madame Macramé was really born. Mostly selling my art to friends and family in the area, with the occasional Etsy sale.


Now, I am settled and happy as ever in Sacramento, CA. I macramé out of my tiny apartment as much as I can! It’s still the very beginning for me, but I someday dream of having a successful macramé business. 💕


Besides macramé, my true favorite thing to do is spend time with rescued farm animals! I am proudly vegan, and I believe it is my life’s calling to do as much as I can for these animals — to get them out of our food system. I volunteer weekly at Only Sunshine Sanctuary in Sacramento County, and have volunteered at various other sanctuaries as well. I donated a macramé cow to Funky Chicken Sanctuary for an auction they hosted, and it was able to raise them $105! To me, that is the most magical part of this art. It ties in so beautifully with the rest of my life!
