Made for Roo developed out of necessity.

I adopted the sweetest scruffy dog from a local shelter, but in all my joy and excitement I overlooked a few key things. Jasper was an adult male dog from the streets that had yet to be housebroken or trained. He wanted to mark everything! Also, after bringing him home, Jasper developed separation anxiety.

While working on crate training, I learned that by leaving items of clothing with my scent in Jasper's crate would help the anxiety. It worked! Jasper was house broken and not as anxious. Eventually, we graduated to not having the crate at all, but I grew tired of seeing my clothes on the floor. My solution was the Just for Roo bed.

I knew I needed something that was durable yet soft and easy to clean. While going through my closet I found the solution - jeans. I grabbed scissors and before I knew it a bed was formed. Jasper loved his new bed and I felt at ease that there wasn't an eyesore in my room.

Inspired and encouraged by the reception Jasper's bed received, I created Made For Roo - my line of handcrafted designs for your home and pets.

Made for Roo blends my passion for animals and design. Beauty can be functional. Nothing is more beautiful than the thought and love that goes into something that is handcrafted.
