Frequently asked questions
How do I send my photos?
The easiest way is through Etsy conversations. Just click on the ‘contact’ link under my profile photo. Or you can email me at pamyoshino.art [AT] gmail.com
How do I get a good photo of my pet?
Here are a couple of helpful tips to taking great photos of your pet, even if you’re just using your phone!
1- Try not to take the photo in direct sunlight, or aim your camera toward the sun or other light source. Snapping the picture near a window with lots of natural light is best. Don’t worry about the background, since I only paint your pet! Also, try not to use a flash.
2- Make sure your pet’s entire head fits into the photo. Try not to get too close and accidentally crop out any of their precious face!
3- Get down to your pet’s level, so your pet is looking directly at the camera. While there, you can also have a treat handy to hold their attention!
What size painting should I choose?
Here are a few suggestions that may make your decision a bit easier:
Think about where you might hang the painting. Does this room have a large amount of empty wall space? If so, a larger sized painting would look best. If the wall area is small, or you plan on hanging several other items nearby, then a small or medium sized painting is a good choice. To get a better idea of how it might look, you could even use a piece of paper or cardboard cut to the size you’re considering. Either lightly tape it to the walls you’ve chosen, or have a friend hold it in place, then you can stand back and decide if the location works for you.
How long will it take to get my custom painting?
Each portrait is carefully hand-painted on a Wacom digital tablet using Clip Studio Paint software. No quick Photoshop filters are used on your photographs, to give a watercolor or painted look. Please allow up to 5 business days to receive a proof, but typically you will receive artwork to review via Etsy Conversation within a couple of days. However, if my order demand is high (such as during the holidays), processing time may be longer, but will be noted in the Announcements on my shop page.
Once the painting is approved, your custom print will ship within 3-5 business days domestic.
