About

Joyful creations to lift, inspire, humor, comfort and admire.

Thank you for visiting and taking the time to read my story.

This shop is a product of my healing journey after suffering a traumatic brain injury, which irrevocably changed my life. I was lucky enough to meet a jewelry maker, sympathetic to my new limitations who taught me how to make the metal jewelry that is the basis if this shop. My creative process is utter chaos. I can't finish a task in one sitting to save my life and only work in short bursts. I usually have about six projects going at any one time. I have good days and bad days. Simple metal craft has been one of the only activities I've found that soothes me. I continue to explore different methods of artistic expression and will post these items as they come into being.

Every purchase from this shop goes towards the goal of independence with a disability, so thank you!

My hope is that the pieces I create will help give strength to those in the same situation as well as bring to life the heartwarming sentiments of my custom orders. I truly cherish creating pieces with personalized messages from one soul to another.

Care instructions

Letter Re-inking
It warms my heart to think that you might wear a JOYSubversive piece until the ink wears off! Should that occur simply re-ink by taking any acrylic paint (try a new color?) and fill in the letters. Wipe away excess with a tissue. If a residue remains in between the letters polish gently with #000 fine steel wool. Voila!

Care instructions

Removing Oxidation
If you live near the sea or get your jewelry wet often, it will inevitably oxidize. To remove, get some #000 fine steel wool from your local hardware store and polish gently. The oxidation will come right off and the process won't take off the ink. Your jewelry will look shiny and new!
