I´m more than happy with this beautiful necklace!
Rocks and Metal
I have always had a weird love of making things with tiny details. I began making jewelry when I was six years old and my mother bought me a bead loom. By the end of elementary school, I was doing embroidery, needlepoint, knitting, beadwork, macrame, and even quilling. (I'm serious. Quilling.)
Although I still love crafts of all sorts, since I had my kids, I have channeled that love into more kid-friendly activities with them. (Pinecone and cotton ball snowy owls, anyone? Countless uses for an empty toilet paper roll?)
As I got older, I got more serious about art. I have a BFA in painting and art history, and my goal is to get back to the same level of intensity in the art studio that I had when I left school. (We'll see how that works out.) In the meantime, as always, I continue to make jewelry and other pretty things to quell my need to create. Etsy is the perfect forum to share this with others.
I create jewelry pieces that are easy to wear, simple and beautiful. I love rocks and stones of all sorts, as well as the undeniably handcrafted element of tiny seed beads. Now and then I incorporate vintage pieces culled from a lifetime of collecting little bits and bobs. I use high quality sterling silver and gold-filled details so that the pieces will last a lifetime -- and then some.
Owner, Maker, Designer, Collector
I live in Portland, OR with my husband, twin 6-year old sons and a screwball labradoodle. I make lots of things: jewelry, drawings, gardens, paper towel roll swords, beds, and dinner.
For real -- he came up with a few of the designs.
