Announcement    Welcome to magbagsetc, magbags for short! I am a fibre artist based in Canada, and I opened my shop February 25th 2016. It feels great to be able to share my love and passion for fibre art with the wider Etsy community and I always have many new and exciting patterns and fabric combinations to add!
All the pieces in my shop are custom made by me in my home studio. Any display pictures are examples only, there are limitless combinations available. Pictured product may not be exactly replicated, as all pieces will have subtle differences in the silk fusion, and material combinations.

Contact me to discuss all the options - I'll do my best to accommodate you, and together we can create a unique piece just for you!

About

I love all things to do with fibre, especially silk and cork leather, which I use to create my one of a kind bags and accessories for you and your home.

I am a retired registered nurse, a wife and mother of 4 grown kids and now a grandmother of 3 and counting!

About 10 years ago I was shown a process using silk roving called silk fusion. This process captured my imagination and over the last 10 years I have used this process in many interesting and creative ways. This results in unique pieces of fabric art every time - even I don't know what the end product will look like!

Most recently I have discovered working with all natural cork leather fabric, and the possibilities combined with silk fusion are endless. I make my own patterns, as well as using more established ones, and this creative process of experimenting is essential to my art.

7 years ago I attended my first artisan craft market and found it a great place to meet folks and sell my creations. I sell at markets and artist's collectives but I find I am now also ready to enter the world of online selling. In my Etsy shop you can find all the possible combinations I offer [cork, fusion, hardware, zippers, pockets, etc] to put together your ideal bag/wallet/cuff or whatever else your heart desires! Get in touch with me to discuss possibilities.

The creative process is exciting and necessary to provide balance in my life. As I enter retirement, this has become both my passion and my business.  Hence an Etsy shop!

I continue to cherish my time in the studio, finding new ways to use silk and other fibres as I invent new bag patterns, create art pieces and experiment with new artistic processes.
