5 out of 5 starsSo happy with the typewriter we bought as a Christmas gift from Maggie. Initially, we were worried that it wouldn’t show up in time for Christmas, but we literally received it the day before Christmas because this lady actually shipped it out the day after we put in our order. Amazing customer service and the packaging alone is incredible. She even included a postcard and some vintage stickers on the outside of the packaging. We highly recommend this shop. Maggie was a pleasure to work with. Oh, and the person we got It for absolutely loved it!

Vintage is the future!
Maggie Again is a husband-and-wife team working from Zaandam, the Netherlands. We mostly sell vintage technology, like typewriters, film cameras, rotary telephones and the like.
We have always been collectors, which was a bit of a problem when we were living in a tiny 1930s flat in Amsterdam... Getting a midcentury, Danish design cabinet (which we had found in a barn in the countryside and was still strongly smelling of sheep) up the narrow staircase to the second floor was quite a challenge!
Now we live in a square, 3-storey house built in 1969, in Zaandam, just to the north of Amsterdam. This house, while not exactly pretty, has a lot of space and several wonderful vintage features, like the original tiles and the glass-and-wood divide between the living room and the hallway.
We strongly believe that retro, vintage and antique items should be used as well as loved. They were intended to be used in the first place, and doing just that is the best way to honour them. This goes for the items we own ourselves (Warbout drives a 1992 Audi 100, for example, and our landline is connected to a green rotary telephone), as well as the ones we sell. So the cameras click, the typewriters write and the radios play – some even with an extra feature that allows you to connect them to your phone, so you can swing around to your own playlist.
Margriet takes care of the day-to-day workings of the shop; photographing, listing and shipping our items, communicating with customers, blogging and using social media. Warbout is the tech wiz, who restores, repairs and enhances the technical items we sell. And of course we go treasure hunting together! We usually spend our wedding anniversary in a thrift shop, as a special treat ;-)
We live together with our toddler daughter and our wire-haired-but-smooth-looking dachshund Tristan.

Frequently asked questions
Are the technical items in working order?
Yes, all our items are thoroughly cleaned and mechanically checked and are in working order. If, for some reason, this should be different for an individual item, then it's clearly mentioned in the listing text.
How much will it cost to send this item to my address?
Go to the 'Shipping' tab in the listing and fill in your country of residence. The shipping cost will then show up on your screen. Easy-peasy!
Oh no! Shipping is so expensive! Why is that?
Maggie Again is based in the Netherlands and ships through the Dutch national mail company PostNL. The shipping prices we use are the ones charged by PostNL. And shipping overseas from the Netherlands, to the USA for example, is quite expensive, because well, it's a long journey...
Do you test all your cameras using film?
No, we don't. We'd love to, but it's just too expensive. All cameras are thoroughly cleaned and mechanically checked, however, and should be in good working order. We'd love to see your results!
Does the vase I like have any damage?
No, we usually don't sell vases or planters with cracks, missing chips, etc. If, for some reason, this should be different for an individual item, then it will be clearly mentioned in the listing text.
Can you give any guarantees on the working of my technical item?
All electrical and mechanical items leave our workshop thoroughly cleaned, tested and in working order; if there are exceptions to this, it will always be mentioned in the listing. However, most of our items are at least thirty years old and usually travel halfway around the world before they reach our customers. A rock-hard guarantee is therefore hard to give - however, we do take great pride in our products and will do everything we can to help if something might be amiss. Send an Etsy convo or e-mail us at info[at]maggieagain.nl and our tech wiz will do his very best to help you.
How long will it take before my parcel will be delivered?
International shipping can occasionally take up to four weeks - however, in our experience most parcels arrive at their destination well within 14 days.
It's such a long journey... How do I know my item won't be damaged?
We do our very best to ensure that your item will arrive safely! Most of our items are reasonably big and require a good-sized box, which we fill with packaging chips. We really hate it when an item arrives damaged at its new home... It happens very occasionally, when it has travelled a long way and the people handeling the parcels haven't been too careful. Just let us know when this happens to you and we'll make it up to you!
Undamaged goods are great, but that takes a lot of packaging materials... What about the environment, the rainforest, planet Earth and everything?
Don't worry! We try to use as much re-used and recycled packaging as possible. Our packaging chips are mostly bio-degradable (they're made of wheat and smell a bit like noodles - weird fact, but there it is) and we get them from Mr Maggie's day job, where otherwise they would be thrown away.
When will you ship my order?
We usually ship on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.
