Handmade Jewelry and Ceramics for the Unconventional

Hi, I'm Jen! After graduating with a degree in Fashion Design, I spent several years designing Print and Pattern for retail clothing companies. I started Magpie and Molly in my spare time, designing and creating pieces whenever I had the chance.

A few years later, I made the decision to leave the corporate world behind and put all my creative energy into Magpie and Molly. It was scary at first, but it was the best decision I ever made!

In 2013, Magpie and Molly became a duo with the addition of my talented husband Jason! He brings a whole new energy to the brand, along with new techniques such as glass enameling and Ceramics.

We've got tons of ideas to bring to life and can't wait to share it all with you!

  • Jen Trautz

    Owner, Maker, Everything Else!

Jen started Magpie and Molly way back in 2009. These days, when she isn't hanging out with her awesome family, you can usually find her making something out of yarn, fabric, or fiber!

  • Jason Trautz

    Owner, Maker

As the "other half" of Magpie and Molly, Jason can usually be found with his hands in the mud. The rest of the time you'll find him hanging out with his family or teaching at Core Clay in Cincinnati, Ohio.

A word about Custom Orders:

Although I have done Custom work in the past, it has become much too difficult to squeeze in due to time constraints. Thanks for your understanding.

Frequently asked questions
Gift wrapping and packaging

Whenever possible, I try to use upcycled packing materials such as boxes, brown paper, or packing peanuts from packages I've received.

Unfortunately, shipping fragile items can be a challenge and I have to make sure everything arrives in one piece, so I often use bubble wrap. I'm constantly looking for better ways to package pottery for shipping, and my goal is to eliminate plastic in the near future.

Custom and personalized orders

Although we've done custom orders in the past, our current workload doesn't allow time for it. Hopefully we will be able to do custom work again in the future.
