Announcement   Handmade Rustic Jewelry with a Boho Chic Flare ** Pearls ** Vintage Metals ** Wire Wrapping ** Sterling ** Gemstones **Turquoise ** Crystals ** Earrings ** Bracelets ** Chains ** Necklaces **Weddings

I find great pleasure in creating beautiful wire wrapped and strung beaded jewelry in a range of styles and connecting each piece to a satisfied customer. Right now I'm really into the Rustic/Woodland/Boho Chic/Neo Victorian vintage feel and you'll see its influence in my work--turquoise, pearls, crystals, & gemstones with vintage bronze, copper, & silver. I've even merged into antiquing sterling and brass to capture this feel. Better yet, I try to keep my Magpies within pocketbook range!

As I create I pray. I pray for each woman who will be wearing my pieces--pray that she knows how much she is loved by the Savior and that she will feel absolutely beautiful while wearing her Magpies. It is my sincere desire that Magpie will bless women and somehow be impactful in each woman knowing how much she is loved.

I create jewelry for weddings and custom design, so convo me if you have a project in mind! I've been hand stamping this year~ Check out the variety of pieces I've been stamping. Ask me for a special phrase, verse, to stamp out for you!!

My son calls me a Magpie! I love shiny things. I think you'll agree and want some for Your nest, too. Have fun shopping.

I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis October 2013. I've chosen to forgo the medical route and try to heal through food using a stringent diet, WahlsPaleoPlus. I created a line of MS Awareness jewelry to support this cause.

Magpie believes in supporting women! 10% of all proceeds go to Womens Ministries @ Advancing Native Missions, a non-profit organization reaching women around the globe for Christ. https://advancingnativemissions.com

Like everything Mary creates, these earrings are exquisite, top to bottom. The earrings themselves are beautifully crafted, but doing business with Mary, is just as beautiful as her jewelry creations. Correspondence is a joy, shipping is fast and always reliable. She my favourite jeweler for a reason and I wear more Magpie pieces than any other brand anywhere.

Mary was so kind to help put together a custom idea for me. This piece will be a special gift and it is beautifully done. Thanks for your help, Mary... I’ll be back to purchase more magpies!

Loving these new silver leaf earrings. Go with anything. Adds panache to the most casual of outfits, yet can equally accompany a finer ensemble. #silverleaf #boholeaf #magpiemadness #minimalleafearrings #leafearrings

About

How Mary Became a Magpie

I started out making Magpies as a personal hobby. I saw a really cool necklace in RealSimple and just knew I could make a more affordable version. So, after a stack of books from the library, online videos and a beginner's set of tools I fell in love.

Before you knew it, all my friends wanted a necklace too. One day, my son Ian, while gazing at rows upon rows of beads exclaimed, "Mom, I'm a magpie; I like shiny things!" It was a natural fit because he rarely stops talking. The name clicked and Magpie Madness got launched.

I've been making and selling Magpies off my website, MagpieMadness.com for several years. At the insistence of my girlfriends, I decided to try out Etsy.

It's such a blessing to work from home while taking care of my family. In my past life I've taught English, been involved in education, and counseling. But I've also been a barista, waitress, line cook, salesgirl, graphic designer, and administrator. You'll see my love of literature reflected in the names I give some of the pieces.

For fun I read, love cooking, and keep fit with morning gym routines. We live in San Diego so the opportunities are countless. I homeschool two delightful children in a classically based model of education.

I have been diagnosed with Remitting/Relapsing Multiple Sclerosis. I have chosen to not take meds and to undergo the Wahls Protocol which entails eating lots of leafy green veggies, wild caught fish, grassfed beef, coconut, and healing through foods.

My beautiful daughter, age 10, who's a remarkable hand at stringing and packaging. She's quite the wizz kid with her wire work, too, which she gives to all her friends.

I love creating Magpies. It's a hobby which grew into a business about four years ago. I also adore books, fountain pens, all things British, great literature....and yes, shiny things.
