Announcement
I have work at Wesleyan Potters in Middletown, CT and Arts Center East in Vernon, CT. I also have work at Jewels Verne Jewelers in Willimantic, CT.
If you'd like a custom tree of life pendant, please message me!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I make wire work jewelry using a variety of metals and semiprecious stones, fossils, and meteorite using wire to bring out the beauty of objects from the natural world.
Some of my work has nods to history and science; in the case of fossils, I sometimes try to help people imagine what those creatures may have looked like in the distant past. Each piece is unique, designed around the stone they encase and enhance.

5 out of 5 starsMy favorite piece by far; it's just cool enough to have dorky conversations about dinosaurs.

5 out of 5 starsStunning in person, lovely packaging. I'm excited for the (surprise) earrings too! My toddler uses the folded map boxes to play with miscellaneous buttons & was excited to have more. (kiddo also wanted to wear the necklace for a bit, which it held up to admirably).

About magpiesmiscellany
Sparkle and creativity with a side of history and science.
I've always liked to make things.
The Miscellany in my shop title comes from the fact that I don't just make jewelry, I make a miscellany of crafts-I also sew and make OOAK art dolls. (And the occasional quilt and magic wand.)
Likewise I've always loved jewelry, as a child I was taken to antique shows very often, to entertain me my parents would have me practice my counting on amethyst gemstones.
In college a friend of mine was a beader and very knowledgeable about gemstones. I loved all the stones, but the beading didn't appeal. I wanted to create my own bezels that would set off the stones. I fell into wirework and never got out!

Owner, Creator
I'm the designer and creator. My degree is in History and I work in a library. So my inspirations are myriad. I love playing with shapes and textures that feel contemporary but evoke the past and carry a bit of wonder about the natural world.
Shop policies
All of my pieces are handmade, so no two will be exactly alike. I have certain styles and types of gems I like to work with, so they may have cousins, but there won't be any twins. Even my trees are all different, as trees in a forest are!
