5 out of 5 starsI was disappointed that it was dated 2005. I was looking for something from the 80"s. Exactly as pictured. Packaged well.

About MailboxVintage
What's in a name?
When my only daughter married and had two sweet little boys, I knew that I had to start parting with all those girly things I saved from when she was young. Since I already had a handmade shop on etsy, and the vintage section had just been added, it made sense to start there. The name "mailbox vintage" came to me as I was sorting through the more than 100 cards and letters my late dad, a mailman, (aka "Lynchie") saved from our correspondence over the years, since we lived miles apart. To know that he treasured them as much as we treasured him just made me smile. So, I just named the shop after him...treasures from our mailbox to yours. And of course, it gives me an excuse to keep searching for more great vintage!
The third daughter of 11 children, I run the shop but he is my inspiration, along with my mom, still thriving, who taught all of us to see potential in everything, and for that matter, everyone. When "Lynchie" saw people tossing out good old stuff on his mail route, he and mom rescued it and restored it to its original beauty for our humble home. We grew up learning to plant from seed, turn fabric scraps into quilts, refinish furniture, bake from scratch and do most anything "the old-fashioned way". Whenever we siblings get together even now, the conversation inevitably includes tales of our latest finds...whether "trash picked" or discovered at a thrift shop or tag sale..and what we did with them. We all have some of those original Lynchie trash-picked treasures in our homes today, and that innate desire to discover, re-purpose and create more lives on.
Here's to happy hunting for years to come! Check out our handmade shop on Etsy called “glorygivers “ for meaningful gifts with eternal truths.

Owner, Curator
Third of eleven children, and like my dad, Lynchie, I love old things and the thrill of the hunt. Tag sales, thrift stores, side of the road... you name it. I especially enjoy matching them up with their new owners who do the virtual hunt on Etsy.

Inspiration
My dad was a mailman, so we were always on a tight budget for our large family. By bringing home and refinishing treasures from his route that others left at the curb, we were able to have a beautifully furnished home, rich in history and character.

Shipping
Packages 16 oz or less will most likely ship First Class (2-5 days) without insurance. One pound or more will go USPS Priority Mail (1-3 days) which includes insurance up to $100. Please select Priority Mail over Parcel Select so that your package will be insured up to $100, and you’ll get it much faster...often for only a few cents more.
Third party insurance is available for an additional fee on first class and parcel select . Please ask for a quote before you purchase so your rate can be adjusted.
Rates for USPS are discounted through Etsy and we pass those savings on to you.
Additional policies and FAQs
We try to be fair on value, typically offering treasures for less than what others charge. Because of that, and to be fair to all customers, we don’t negotiate unless you’re looking to spend at least $300. If something doesn't sell, we may drop the price before renewing.
