I am a cook and I was looking for a head covering for cleanliness and to protect my hair and I’m in love with this. I’ve tossed it in the wash and drier and it was just fine, I strongly recommended this lovely and helpful head covering and am grateful for the work put into making this possible. This is probably one of my favorites of the different scarves I’ve bought, I really like it. However, one little thing, the ties could to be longer. As you see in pic they are short, any shorter I would not have been able to tie. They could be just a bit longer. Besides that, the price is a bargain, I love supporting ppl making things vs big box, and makes them unique. I’m very happy with it

Mairin Makes is about Making the Most of my skills, hobbies, and naptime (!) for the glory of God and good of our neighbors.

I started sewing in 2017 when I was pregnant with my daughter. My husband was deployed and I was needing a hobby! After dabbling in crochet, I wanted something to do with a quicker turnaround and more broad application for serving my family. I went to Walmart and bought the cheapest sewing machine I could find because I wasn't sure if this would "stick", and watched YouTube video after YouTube video, practicing my new skills making dresses and blankets for my daughter.

I created Bitsy Baby Blankets in 2018 to share my blanket creations with the world, which evolved from using fabric from bix box stores to incorporating fabrics with artwork from independent artists and printed at small printeries in the USA. As I continued to grow in my knowledge and skills, my desires broadened beyond just baby goods and blankets, and Mairin Makes was born in October 2020!

I now offer a variety of handmade textiles simply based on the things I am loving to make (and occasionally thrift!). I love that my business is a successful overflow of what I am doing for my home every day, and I am inspired by the Proverbs 31 woman to continue doing good work, learning new things, and Making the Most of it all for the glory of God and good of my neighbor.
