I received this handwoven pillow cover quickly and found that it fits the pillow form perfectly. This handwoven pillow, with its varying textures and colors, makes our black upholstered rocker come to life!

I purchased this scarf for my mother. The shades of rose and black yarns are striking against her black coat and she loves the variety of loops, tufts and shags in the weaving. She's already received several compliments on her scarf. Equally important is that Mom says it's the warmest scarf she's ever worn!

About

Happily Making in Southwestern New Mexico

I have always loved learning new things, particularly related to making things. Especially when it comes to fiber arts, you name it and I've probably tried it at least once. I also love bookbinding. Recently, I discovered the SAORI philosophy of weaving, and it has ignited my passion for creating like nothing else I have ever done before. Weaving has become my meditation, my stress reliever, my joy, and my passion. So I am here selling the outcome of these fits of creativity.

My weaving is inspired by the SAORI philosophy--no rules, no mistakes, no pattern, just joyful weaving from the heart. It is weaving as art, as a way to express yourself and your emotions. It is like painting with colors on a canvas. It is also a process that encourages people to create what only a person can create, in all of its imperfect glory--we are not machines, so why try only to recreate what a machine can do? In my weaving, there are lots of loops, variations in textures and colors, and organic, wavy edges. I **love** texture and find myself incorporating lots of it into most things I do. Sometimes before I start weaving for the day, I just sit there and run my hands along the previous day's work, waiting for inspiration to strike. The result is usually more texture!

I hope you enjoy my work. More importantly, I hope it can inspire you to create more, too. In putting our heart and soul into making a thing, we not only create it, we also continually create ourselves, too.

I have been a fiber arts addict most of my life, since I taught myself to knit at the age of 11. My other love is bookbinding. Recently, my neighbor called me a maker, and The Makery was born. I now spend my days Making in southwestern New Mexico.
