Announcement   Welcome to Peggy Albers Pottery! Pottery in this shop is all hand-thrown and/or handbuilt. Animals, and especially rabbits feature primarily in my work. Rabbits are articulate, talented, and ambitious, are virtuous, reserved, and have excellent taste. Rabbit people are admired, trusted, and are often financially lucky. They are fond of gossip but are tactful and generally kind. Rabbit people seldom lose their temper.

Most of my work has some whimsy, and attempts to take on serious or classic ideas with humor. Pieces are food safe, and make great gifts for family and friends! With every kiln, new pieces will be posted, please check back often!

Most recently, I've been working with larger pieces--especially sculptures. Like the other pieces, these rabbits are always in search of something, and some of them are nice while others are less nice. I guess, these rabbits are really symbolic of fear-safety, good-evil, and playful-deceitful. Although I'm not really interested in binaries such as these, they come out while I work. This is a fact about my process I find very interesting.

GALLERY/SHOP KEEPERS: If you see pieces in my shop that you are interested in showing and selling, I'd be happy to work with you on a discount basis or a consignment basis. Please convo me with your ideas.

LIVE IN ATLANTA? If you live in ATL, you can save your shipping costs by picking up your items at my house or meeting somewhere to finalize the transaction. I'm located in Decatur.

Thanks very much and have a look around my shop!

It has the place of honor in my office window. "Southern Comfort" just makes me happy! It also is perfectly made. Balances on the feet and is a wonderful color.

I love the expression and detail on this rabbit's face! It was shipped promptly in careful packaging. This artist does lovely work!

Even though there were some glitches, the piece I got is whimsically amazing. Good customer support also. Thank you :-)

About

Peggy Albers Pottery

In 2010, I began to sell my pottery and sculpture on Etsy. I have been a potter since 1997, and have enjoyed this art form immensely. I show in and around the area of Atlanta, when I have the time, but rely on my dear Etsy site to connect me with other art people! I throw familiar forms (bowls, cups, ovaled dishes), but keep moving towards sculpture which has dominated my work for the past several years. I use stoneware, raku and recycled clay bodies, and fire in multiple ways: soda, salt, cone 6 and cone 10. Each of my sculptures is handbuilt (no molds) so each piece is individually crafted.
