I've been working with plant dyes for over 25 years, and I haven't tired of them yet! These natural colors look alive, and I feel they have harmonizing and healing properties as well. Wood chips, nut hulls, flowers, and plants are my dye materials of choice. They can often be reused, and they make good mulch when I'm done. I think that each plant or tree has its own individual colors to share. I work in small batches and often let the dyes speak to me--blending dyes and over-dyeing to create unique, one-of-a-kind colors and colorways. I want strong colors that last, so I use dyes that have served me well over the years. I photograph items out of doors in natural light and do my best to represent colors accurately. Thanks for taking the time to look at my stuff!!

5 out of 5 starsThis pattern was really straightforward and easy enough that even my kids (6 & 8) could make really cute dragons from it. My son (6) has been learning some basic sewing in school. We had a car trip and I made "sewing kits" for my kids (6 & 8) using the dragon pattern. I took a ziplock bag and added everything they would need including the cut out pattern pieces (which I cut out the night before). The road trip was for their uncle's graduation and he LOVES dragons. The sewing & directions were easy enough that they could follow the instructions. But kept them busy the whole ride. Then when we got there we had presents for their uncle who was graduating (we added little graduation caps to the dragons)!

5 out of 5 starsI just finished sewing and stuffing the leafy sea dragon. The pattern and instructions work just fine. Now I need to add the "leafy" part of the dragon. I hope the results are even half as good-looking as MamaJude's.
