About

The Mandala Way

Eitan Kedmy was born in 1955 in Jerusalem, and grew up in Tel Aviv. He graduated from the department of Visual Communications at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design. At the start of his professional career, he worked as an illustrator in various magazines and newspapers. For ten years, he contributed illustrations to Yedioth Ahronoth, Israel’s most popular daily newspaper, as well as to more than 70 books for children, young people and adults.
Eitan saw mandalas for the first time in his life in 2004, when he escorted his daughter to a friend’s birthday party. The party’s facilitator, an artist, offered an original activity: She scattered old vinyl records, painted white, on the table, and asked the kids to draw on them a mandala. Eitan joined the activity and began drawing. He soon started feeling the force of a circular energy pulling him into the center (bindu) within him. He was overtaken by a remarkable sensation of peacefulness and awareness.
Eitan discovered the mandala after years of deepening spiritual experiences, meditations and healing. In the mandala, he felt he found his true home, a place where different worlds come together: a fascinating and varied channel for deep creative expression, and an incredible tool for healing, calming, and growth. The chance encounter with the mandala did indeed change his life.
Since then, Eitan has put aside all his other pursuits. Now, he creates mandalas, teaches mandalas, and lives mandalas.

The Mandala is a creation consisting of circles, which start at the center and extend outward. The circle, a primeval natural form – consider the stars, snowflakes, tree trunks – has served as an inspiration to humankind since the dawn of history. People from various cultures discovered that the creation of circular forms facilitated the expression of inner cosmic entities. Native American shamans draw dance mandalas during healing ceremonies; the Shield of David symbol is based on the form of a circle divided into six equal parts; and the Tibetan mandala symbolizes the cyclical nature of life and death.
‘Mandala Way’ is a journey of self discovery, consciousness raising, and spiritual growth. It is a path of artistic creativity that enables us to connect directly with our emotional experiences using colors and images. Decoding this emotional language can open the depths of our soul, bringing awareness, insight, and change into our lives. In addition, drawing mandalas is a relaxing and soothing experience: time and the rhythm of life slow down, allowing us to experience the wholeness of inner presence – the true self – and to connect with our personal destiny.
