Hello and welcome!
My name is Tania Wojciechowski and I love designing and making things out of natural materials.

Manusmade
"Manus" is the latin term for "hand", and here at manusmade all things handmade are celebrated. The latin infusion evokes a sense of history and tradition: people have been making things by hand for thousands of years. To me, it also represents the power of the hand - the ability to create and make. All manusmade products are modern goods for you and your home and are handmade of natural materials. I am a maker, and I love supporting other makers. I know you do, too.

Warm. Natural. Modern. Playful. These are the themes of manusmade. I believe that everyone should have access to good design everyday. Why can't an ordinary tea towel be beautiful as well?

Sewing
I learned to sew at a young age from my mother. Always curious and inquisitive, I made things without patterns, tried new ways of doing things, put together interesting fabrics. This made my mother a bit nervous (patterns are to be followed!), but it quickly helped me learn how to work with fabric.

Shopgirl
I've always wanted to be a shop girl! When I was about 8 or 9 I would set up a shop in the playroom with a pretend register, receipt book, price tags and all. I would then make my younger brother buy everything. The poor guy, he'd have to undo the complimentary gift wrapping before he could play with his own toys!

Texture
This is my favourite word. I especially love texture in natural materials - the touch of nubby linen or the warm scratchiness of wool felt. Touch and texture, for me, evoke so many emotions and memories. And who doesn't like to celebrate beautiful memories? So much of what I do here is textural.

Creativity coaching
I am also a creativity coach, and help women create sanctuary in their lives—both inside and out—by bringing ease, joy, and connection back into their lives through creative expression. I passionately believe that through the process of getting out of your head and into your hands, through making things, and creating spaces that feel sacred to you, you can deeply re-connect with yourselves, your values, your meaning.

Through a life’s worth of experiences, I know what it feels like to be completely disconnected from my best self when my creative life force is zapped. Those all-encompassing times of grief, of burnout, of infertility, where I wasn’t creating, led me to feel like I'd completely lost my foundation—my own inner fire. Again and again, I've found the courage to re-connect—to start sewing again, to create special spaces in my home, and finding that peace of mind that feels like my soul’s home. I now helps others find their own sanctuary, both through coaching and through goods I hand make.
