Updates

Freeman is scraping away the casting seam and carving in details. Once detailed we fire the Turkey in the kiln at 1845* F After this the piece is bisque and ready to paint or glaze. Order early as they sell out fasy.
In this picture we are cleaning off the mold seems and carving in the details. Next we will fire the piece in the kiln for bisque firing. This firing takes 10 hours to reach 1846 Fahrenheit and 24 hours to cool. Once out of the kiln it's ready to paint.
Pieces fresh out of molds and drying
Once dry we fire them in the kiln at cone 06. That's 1845 degrees Fahrenheit.

Ready to paint ceramic bisque and finished heirloom quality ceramics.

I (Happy) have been creating ceramic art since 1954. I am having the time of my life. Freeman, Kimberlie and I Moved into our new state of the art studio, in June of 2018. We now seat up to 30 students. Maple Hill Ceramics is the Premier Art destination in the Branson Missouri/Tri-lakes area.

After 64 years painting ceramics I continue to paint 5-days a week. It is a joy and Blessing to have Freeman and Kimberlie working with me and sharing my enthusiasm. Stop in and see us, we would love to help you Learn the Techniques, Create an heirloom and then play with the techniques to create your own one of a kind masterpiece

    Happy founded Maple Hill Ceramics in 1981 after she retired from teaching second grade for 25 years. She has numerous Ceramic Technique certificates and is the Foundation of knowledge from which we all draw

    Assistant

    Kimberlie started apprenticing in 2017 and has quickly become proficient in painting, staining and translucent techniques. She helps Happy instruct guests when they come to the studio to paint and helps Happy with custom orders.

  • Freeman

    Owner, Maker, Assistant

    Freeman is the one who casts, carves, and fires, your piece in the kilns. He then packs, ships and insures each step of the process is completed. He is also the person that manages all online work, and answers the phones.

Wholesale availability

We are a retail store and are unable to complete or compete in the wholesale market. We do NOT wholesale.

Sizing details

Please read the description for size of each piece. Every item is made from a mold and cannot be made a different size.

Gift wrapping and packaging

We offer gift wrapping that may be purchased upon checkout. We can also add a personalized note printed on card stock that may be included with the package.

Care instructions

When purchasing an outdoor statue, it is important to spray seal the surface ever year. Use an acrylic high gloss spray. We use Krylon brand found in most hardware stores.
