I make all my work in a small glass studio and wood shop at my home in Oakland, CA. I use a flameworking torch to melt and shape borosilicate glass in a spectrum of colors and anneal all pieces in a glassworking kiln. I also have a small array of fine woodworking tools to help me create works that either stand on their own or complement my glass art. I draw my inspiration from the natural world - space, ocean, flora, and fauna - and often from the whimsical depths of my own mind. I hope you enjoy these creations as much as I have enjoyed making them.

I chose the name “Mapleseed” to honor the beautiful Japanese maple tree that grows outside my studio. As I was first setting up my glass working space, this tree was dropping it’s purple red seeds all around. My glass studio was itself just a seed, but it is growing more beautiful each day.
