Marcella embraces the DESIGN THAT MATTERS movement. Welcome!

All aspects of our products are oriented towards advancing women and girls globally – from the design, to the production approach, to the social impact.

Central to this approach, we partner with the powerhouse global NGO CAMFED to support girls’ education globally. For each Marcella design you purchase, you’ve supported five days of school for a girl in need – the equivalent five day cost of school fees, books, uniforms, sanitary products – everything that girl needs to go to school for a week.

Please note that all returns and exchanges must be mailed within 30 days of receipt and in new, unworn, and unaltered condition, with original tags attached. Please note that masks and mask accessories cannot be returned or exchanged for safety reasons.

EXCHANGES: We offer one size/color exchange per garment (subject to availability). Please note that we're unable to assist with the cost incurred to mail back the garment, but we’re happy to send your replacement item for no additional shipping charge after we receive your return package!

RETURNS: Once received, we will issue your refund for the returned garment within 14 business days. Please be mindful that we wouldn’t be able to assist with the mailing expense you incur to mail garments back to us.

FOR RETURNS + EXCHANGES alike, please follow the instructions below:

1. Within 14 days of receiving your order, please contact us at support [!at] marcellanyc.com with your order number and the design number of the specific items you’d like to return or exchange.

2. We will then send a link to purchase a return shipping label—we offer a USPS returns option for our US customers and a highly discounted DHL Express shipping option that includes pickup for our international customers.

3. Please be sure to fill out your return/exchange form and include it in the package to help us process your request as quickly as possible.

ADDITIONAL GUIDELINES for hassle-free returns and exchanges:

• Please ship your return or exchange within 30 days from the date of delivery. All items must be unwashed, unworn, unaltered, and the original tags must be attached. A $10 care charge applies to all products requiring special handling, such as dry cleaning.

• If you decide not to take advantage of our discounted shipping return options, we suggest that you send your return with your country’s governmental postal service with a tracking number to ensure your package’s safe arrival. We ask that you kindly refrain from using an international courier such as DHL, FedEx, UPS, TNT, etc. as intl’ couriers charge a customs processing fee of about $50 USD with such global shipments. Please note that in this event, we would need to pass along any such fee to you in order to process your exchange/return.

• If you’re an international customer arranging your own exchange/return, in the process of filling out the customs declaration at your local governmental postal service, please be sure to reference the order number of your invoice and the exact amount paid (net of shipping) for the specific item(s) you plan to return or exchange. Unfortunately, failure to do so may result in significant penalties associated with your return or exchange on the part of the U.S. and/or E.U. customs authorities.

• Please note that face coverings and accessories, as well as all items marked "final sale," are non-refundable. Regular sale items may be returned or exchanged. "Clearance" items, however, may not be exchanged and can only be returned for store credit. Custom garments are not eligible for return or exchange.

• Once received, we will issue your refund for the returned garment within ten business days. If you have requested an exchange, we'll send your replacement as soon as possible after receiving your return package, subject to availability. If the item you've requested is no longer available, we'll instead refund you for the item you've returned to us within ten business days.

• Original shipping charges, as well as the shipping charges incurred by you to mail the garments back to us, are non-refundable.

• Please understand that we cannot be responsible for any postal or courier service losing any return or exchange on its way back to us and, unfortunately, would not be able to reimburse you in that case.

• We’re only able to process exchanges for the same item in a new size or color (depending on availability), and cannot process exchanges for two different garments. Any such requests would instead be processed as a return. Clearance items, customized items, and items marked "Final Sale" (including all face masks and face mask accessories) are ineligible for exchanges.

• Viewing itself as part of a global community, Marcella complies with all laws and regulations in the countries in which we sell. This commitment includes sending all garments with proper customs documentation, a responsibility we undertake not only to be ethical but also to protect our customers from possibly facing steep fines in their home countries.

• In most countries in which we sell, there are no customs duties/fees associated with any purchase from Marcella. We do provide a list of countries in which a customer may need to pay customs duties/fees on our shop page, and in our order confirmation emails. If a customer declines taking delivery of the package from the courier, regrettably, we'll need to charge a $20 restocking fee to compensate for the time and expense to us of processing the package's return to our company.

• Similarly, on occasion, when the courier is unable to successfully deliver a package to a customer at the address provided and instead returns the package to Marcella, regrettably, we'll need to charge a $20 restocking fee to compensate for the time and expense to us of processing the package's return.

• Please feel free to keep the tote bag you received with your garment order. It's our small gift to you.

PLEASE NOTE: Out of an abundance of caution, we have implemented a temporary procedure to help defend against the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) which will extend our processing time for returns and exchanges by an additional 5-10 business days. We thank you in advance for your understanding.

Prices shown include EU VAT rates. For sales outside the EU the prices shown include VAT at the 0% export rate, and a discount is factored into the shipping charges.

All orders with apparel items are shipped from Bulgaria, EU. US orders with masks or mask accessories only will ship domestically from our fulfillment partner in Massachusetts, USA, subject to availability.

Our standard shipping for all countries outside the US and Canada is through the German Postal Service. You’ll receive your order with a tracking number, which we’ll send to you once we ship your package.

Our express shipping option, and shipping for Canada and US apparel orders, is through DHL Express. With DHL, you’ll receive your order with a tracking number as well, but please include your phone number in the note at checkout so that DHL can send you a text message with an option to waive the signature requirement as well as reschedule your delivery if necessary. Please note that any apparel package with a total weight of over 4.4 lbs (or 2 kg) will automatically be upgraded by us to DHL Express at no additional charge.

If you're sending your order as a gift, please note that due to documentation restrictions, only packages sent via DHL are eligible for a gift invoice, and that packages sent via Deutsche Post will display the order value.

Please note that there might be additional delays due to customs procedures and/or holidays.

• How much will shipping cost? Enjoy a combined shipping discount!

Shipping varies by country and by type of the garment. If you add the pieces to your shopping cart, you'll see the specific costs and associated, combined shipping discounts before checking out. Customers in Puerto Rico will be asked to pay an additional supplemental shipping fee of $15 once we've received your order.

You will also have the option to upgrade your shipping to DHL Express for one additional "upgrade" fee, no matter how many items in the order—in this event, you will also enjoy an automatic, combined shipping discount.

Kindly note that if you are located in the US or Canada, any apparel order will automatically be sent via DHL Express at no additional cost, so please be sure to only select “Standard” shipping at checkout.

• Do you offer an express shipping option? Can I pay for upgraded shipping for a faster delivery?

Yes! We offer the opportunity to upgrade your shipping for express delivery during checkout.

For US mask customers, your mask or mask accessories order would ship via USPS from our fulfillment partner in Massachusetts, or you may upgrade to FedEx 2-Day at checkout if desired.

All upgraded apparel orders will be sent with DHL Express courier services. You will only need to pay one additional upgrade fee per order for the express shipping option—no matter how many items in the order. You can preview the upgrade cost at checkout.

We have temporarily extended our order processing times due to high demand. Before we ship your order, please allow us up to 1-2 weeks to create and prepare your order. Once shipped via express shipping, your order will be sent with a tracking number and a signature requirement and you could expect to receive it within the following approximate ranges:

You will be offered the opportunity to upgrade your shipping at checkout. In this situation, we’ll just send you an additional listing to purchase the upgrade.

If you are unsure whether your order will qualify for an automatic upgrade, and you would like to be certain that your order is sent with the express shipping option offered, please upgrade your shipping at checkout and send us a note upon placing your order and we would be happy to refund you the upgrade charge if you are eligible for an automatic upgrade.

Please note that if you are located in the Canada or the US (for orders with apparel items), your order will automatically be sent via DHL Express at no additional cost, with no need to select express shipping at checkout. US customers purchasing masks that would ship domestically via USPS will have the option to upgrade to FedEx 2-Day at checkout.

• Will my package be "signature required"?

ALL ORDERS—CUSTOMERS IN US & CANADA

All orders for customers in Canada and any apparel orders for customers in the US will automatically be sent via DHL Express and are shipped with a signature requirement, but it can be waived by you at any time before delivery. You should receive a communication from DHL either via text or email once your package's DHL shipping documentation is generated by us, allowing you to confirm your delivery details – including delivery date, location, and whether you'd like to keep or waive the signature requirement.

US orders of masks or mask accessories will ship from within the US (depending on availability) and would be shipped via USPS, or FedEx if upgraded shipping is purchased. Orders shipped domestically from either of these carriers will not include a signature requirement.

STANDARD SHIPPING—ALL LOCATIONS OUTSIDE US & CANADA

Orders shipped via the German Postal Service do not include a signature requirement. Kindly note that if the German Postal Service tracking number confirms delivery, we consider the package delivered and respectfully won't be able to offer any resolution.

You might prefer that the order be sent to your place of employment, to a trusted friend who could receive the package during delivery hours, etc. Please note that for orders sent with standard shipping via the German Postal Service, once any such order has been sent out by us, there will be no way for us to edit shipping and delivery details, so please contact us immediately after placing your order if you wish to make any changes.

Any package with a total weight of over 4.4 lbs (or 2 kg) will automatically be upgraded by us to DHL Express at no additional charge, which includes a signature requirement. Please see below for more information.

DHL EXPRESS SHIPPING—ALL LOCATIONS OUTSIDE US & CANADA

All orders sent via DHL Express are shipped with a signature requirement, but it can be waived by you at any time before delivery. You should receive a communication from DHL either via text or email once your package's DHL shipping documentation is generated by us, allowing you to confirm your delivery details – including delivery date, location, and whether you'd like to keep or waive the signature requirement.

Kindly note that if the tracking number indicates that your package has been delivered, we consider the package delivered and, while we will do whatever we reasonably can to help escalate the issue with DHL, we respectfully won't be able to offer any resolution from our side.

• Will I have to pay customs and duties?

Some countries charge additional customs and duties and customers are responsible for any such charges. We wish we knew all the specific charges, but even though we don’t, we’d like to offer some very general information about how much approximately these charges may be for some of the countries we ship to:

> Canada: about 8-30%, depending on the province

> United Kingdom: 6% to 17% depending on garment

> Australia: about 15%

> Switzerland: about 10%

> Norway: between 30-70%, depending on order value

> Israel: about 25%

> Singapore: about 7%

> Puerto Rico: about 10.5%

> Colombia: about 19%

> United Arab Emirates: about 5-10%

> Saudi Arabia: about 5-10%

> Kuwait: about 5%

> Qatar: about 5%

> South Korea: about 10%

> Taiwan: between 20-40% depending on garment

> China: between 14-25%

> Japan: 20-38% of your order value, depending on type of garment and garment material

We are also occasionally asked if we can send packages as gifts to avoid such charges as we understand certain other businesses on Etsy do. To be clear, this is an illegal practice and may additionally subject you, as the customer, to penalties and fines in your own country. Regardless, as a business that strives to be ethical, we are not able to mark your items as gifts with low value on customs forms.

For most countries in which we sell, there are no additional customs duties/fees associated with any purchase from Marcella, but we do provide the above information as a reference to those customers who might be subject to such charges. In the event a customer refuses delivery or declines to pay the charges, causing the package to be returned to us by the delivery courier, we'd need to charge a $20 restocking fee to compensate for the time and expense to us of processing the package's return to our company.

Please note that there might be additional delivery delays due to customs procedures. You would be responsible for all customs fees, if applicable.

• Which address will my order be sent to?

All items will be shipped to the address provided with your order. If you wish for your item to be shipped to a different address, please send us a note immediately once you place your order so that we can change it. If your order is shipped prior to our receiving your request for an address change, we wouldn't be able to reimburse you and we thank you for your kind understanding.

• My package got lost or damaged. Will you offer a resolution?

Though we always strive to provide a superior customer experience, mail couriers on occasion experience lost/stolen/damaged packages. Unfortunately, we cannot be responsible for the couriers, and would not be able to reimburse you in the event that your package gets lost, stolen or damaged. We’d recommend that you contact the courier directly as they are best positioned to remediate the issue.

You'll find a size chart in the image section of each listing. We always suggest that customers follow the directions on the chart to compare their measurements with those shown for the best size recommendation.

The measurements on our garment and footwear size charts correspond to approx. recommended body measurements in order to provide size advice across item type, rather than the measurements of the item itself.

You can find more information specific to the item you're viewing—length measurements, heights and sizes of the models shown, fabric details, and more—in the item’s description for reference.

For face masks, please keep in mind that measurements are approximate and based on the unwashed dimensions. Masks are not pre-shrunk.

Who is Marcella? What happened to Marcellamoda?

After more than ten years on Etsy as Marcellamoda, we are now Marcella.

The original Marcellamoda symbolized the bold, individual edge that women in NYC exude through their personal style. The new Marcella brings forth the elements of fashion and impact—the two lines of inspiration that fuel Marcella each and every moment, while keeping the unique New York City style we all have come to love.

At Marcella, we are more than a minimalist apparel brand within reach. We are a movement. The new name welcomes an exciting new chapter in which we will overtly embrace our philosophy of Design That Matters™—a mission to advance women and girls globally through the three pillars of democratizing design, ethical production and social impact.

What are "school days" and how do they work?

At Marcella, all aspects of our products are oriented towards advancing women and girls globally—from the design, to the production approach, to the social impact.

Central to this approach, we partner with the powerhouse global NGO CAMFED to support girls’ education globally.

For each Marcella design you purchase, you’ll be supporting five days of school for a girl in need. That's the equivalent five day cost of school fees, including books, uniforms, sanitary products—everything that girl needs to go to school for a week.

This applies to each garment you purchase from us. Keep in mind that face masks and mask accessories purchases do not sponsor school days.

Could you customize a garment for me?

We're not able to accept any requests for customized orders at this time. Thanks for understanding!

This includes all of our garments, accessories, and face masks. We also cannot offer any personalization options.

We don’t offer custom sizing, but many of our garments are made of high-stretch fabric which allows for flexible sizing.

Do you offer gift wrapping and other gift options?

We don't offer gift wrapping at this time, but we're happy to include a gift message! Please include your request in the note at checkout, and we'll include your message in the shipment for the recipient.

We will also include a gift invoice upon request (available only for orders shipped via DHL Express).

Which address will my order be sent to?

All items will be shipped to the address provided during checkout. If you wish for your item to be shipped to a different address than is shown on your invoice, please send us a note immediately and we will do our best to assist you!

How long will it take to receive my order?

Any apparel orders will be made, wrapped, and sent from Europe. US mask orders are shipped domestically, subject to availability.

Our standard shipping times vary based on the items included in your order, shipping location, and shipping method selected. Order processing times will also vary by item and availability, and an estimated timeframe will be displayed during checkout.

Apparel orders to the US, and all orders to Canada ship via DHL Express. Any intl. shipment with a total weight of over 4.4 lbs (2 kg) will be automatically upgraded to DHL Express at no additional charge. Express shipping upgrades are also available for purchase at checkout.

Will I have to pay customs and duties?

Please note U.K. orders above £135 would require an additional duty payment.

We are occasionally asked if we can send packages as gifts to avoid such charges as we understand certain other businesses on Etsy do. To be clear, this is an illegal practice and may additionally subject you, as the customer, to penalties and fines in your own country. Regardless, as a business that strives to be ethical, we are not able to mark your items as gifts with low value on customs forms. Thank you for your understanding!

How do I request a return?

If you'd like a return or exchange, please contact us within 2 weeks of receiving your order with your order number and the design codes of the items you plan to return.

We offer returns via USPS for US customers at a low flat rate. For international returns, we're happy to arrange DHL pickup at a discounted fee. All shoppers outside the US will return items to Europe, where our atelier is located.

As we try to keep our prices accessible, we're unable to cover return shipping costs. Thanks for understanding!

Final sale items (incl. all masks and mask accessories, and all customized items) cannot be returned or exchanged. Clearance items are eligible for store credit only.
