Announcement    🍁❄️⛄️ 11/02/20 Holiday Update:
Hey all! Just a friendly reminder that if you’re buying for Christmas, I’d recommend ordering no later than November just to play it EXTRA safe. I’m working as fast as I humanly can— current processing time is 2-3 weeks (could be faster, but never longer than that), NOT including postal delays. The USPS will probably be bonkers and so overwhelmed, so please keep in mind that we don’t have any control over transit times. The best thing to do is plan ahead! 💖✨ Thank you for your love & support, I can’t wait to make you stuff! 🥰

04/08/20 — COVID-19 UPDATE: I hope you’re all safe and healthy during this time. ❤️ We are still shipping orders! I finish and ship orders in about 1-2 days. There may be delays in transit based on Post Office staffing (or even complete shut downs of service for your country if you are overseas). It’s a crazy time and I’d like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your patience and generosity in supporting small (actually, micro) businesses; you are keeping art (and the economy, frankly) alive! Thank you!!!!! 💕

06/17/19 — 🎉 My partner and I just opened up a supply shop! We have many arts & crafts goodies collected over the years that we now consider surplus, so we’re "de-stashing"/liquidating as much as we can. Stay tuned for new listings!

Great news everyone! We are now using biodegradable oxo-plastic bags to enclose our products in! 😍 We strive to not only be successful in the traditional business sense, but also successful in having a well-integrated, harmonious relationship with our planet and environment, so we are super excited to take another step in a healthy direction. ❤️🌎

Hey y'all! More exciting progress to update you with: we are now using 100% recyclable bubble mailers to ship our products in! 😍 Soon, we hope to move on to biodegradeable bubble mailers and bubble wrap. Baby steps... baby steps. 🌱🌻🌸✌🏻

Woo hoo! New update: our business cards and product tags are now printed on 65% post-consumer recycled card stock (embedded with natural sugar cane fibers), and our gift boxes are stuffed with 100% recycled tissue paper. ♻️🌎🌿❤️

About MargayAndBinturong

On Etsy since 2013

Hello, lovely Etsy denizens!! 💕

I am humbled and so filled with gratitude and child-like glee that you’ve stopped by my little space on this enormous marketplace full of incredible artists. 🥰

I have always had a keen eye for detail that I attribute to my mother, as she was naturally artistic and dabbled in many mediums. Being exposed to this as a child, I had an interest in drawing and portraits in school. Unfortunately, life happened and I never revisited art in that form in adulthood, but I have enjoyed sewing and random crafts occasionally over the years.

My mother has designed and sold her own jewelry for over a decade. I always thought it looked like so much fun; I looked but never touched. Several years ago, in addition to being mesmerized by all the sparkles, I had an earring addiction that needed to be fed, so I finally asked if I could use her things to make my self a pair. Thus, a thirst was born to try my hand at a new hobby that I’d also get to enjoy wearing! 🤩 Eventually this thirst completely consumed me and now I can’t stop. 😆

As a perfectionist with very keen perception, I take pride in knowing that every piece that leaves my hands is crafted with the utmost care and with durability in mind.
I prefer to use all-natural materials, unless it is just so dazzling that I can’t resist (such as Swarovski Crystals and/or other unusual/neat materials).

Margay and Binturong strives to minimize waste and conserve/recycle wherever we can. Our bubble mailers are 100% recyclable ♻️, we use recycled gift boxes and biodegradable oxo-plastic to enclose our Sterling Silver products, we print and cut each and every one of our business cards as well as product tags on 65% post consumer recycled card stock, and we repurpose/reuse packing materials from our own supply purchases. We hope to continue in this direction and find more ways to be mindful of the environment, reduce our carbon footprint, and contribute to conservation. Thanks for supporting us along this journey! 💕🌿🌎🌸

Frequently asked questions
How long is the processing time for Holiday season orders?

Orders placed during holiday times (Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Christmas, etc.) may take up to 5 business days to process (the normal processing time is 1-3 days).

I work tirelessly to ensure quality work and promptness in getting your lovely goodies ready to go as fast as I humanly can. It will likely be sooner than 5 days, but just to be on the safe side, please plan accordingly during the busy holiday season. If needed, contact me for rush orders and we’ll see what we can do. 😊

Etsy also has faster shipping options that you can upgrade to if needed. Thanks for understanding! 🙏

Shipping/Delivery Issues

The US Postal Sevice has had a pretty dependable track record for all my customers so far. All shipping for U.S. residents includes tracking, but I understand accidents do happen.
I would advise reaching out to Etsy, your credit card provider, or PayPal for resolution in these instances.

Insurance of up to $100 is included with Priority Mail, so it’s highly recommended you select Priority Mail 1-3 day if you have a large order or expensive item. If you’d like to insure more than that, contact me prior to purchase so we can add it to your order. Thank you 🥰

Care instructions

💎 For silver, if your piece has begun to tarnish, an easy way to brighten/polish it right from home (not for soft stones like opal, turquoise, lapis lazuli, etc.):
— Use an old toothbrush and baking soda toothpaste. Works best if applied to dry toothbrush.
— Brush for a minute. Please be gentle when handling anything with gemstones, as drilled gemstones can be delicate.
— Rinse while still brushing off any residual paste from crevices. Voila! Nice and shiny again. ✨😊
— Store in a ziplock bag away from rubber to slow oxidation process.

💎 For Gold-Filled, if you’d like your piece to last as long as possible:
— Avoid showering or swimming with your jewelry piece.
— Take off during rigorous or rough activity.
