5 out of 5 starsOk so it's my sisters work. Bear in mind we grew up together and both of us were always drawing, painting and doodling. I love her fantastic use of colours, it never ceases to amaze me. And she's way to cheap (ongoing discussion). Keep an eye out for her work and progress! =] The birthday calendar is an excellent way to get more than 1 picture in your possession, but the full scale paintings in her shop really say it all. Love you sis!

Painting is my passion
My name is Maria Meester, I'm a self taught artist living in the Netherlands. Making art has been my passion since I could hold a brush as a little girl. I have taken classes when I was younger and keep educating myself by reading a lot, experimenting and by painting as often as I can.
I have exhibited locally in public buildings, a church, a cafe and a gallery. Also I join the local open studio events and sell on art fairs.
It's very exciting to send my work to buyers worldwide. You can find my work in homes in the Netherlands, United States, Great Britain, Greece, Canada and Cyprus :)
In abstract painting I can be free and express myself any way I feel like.
My favorite mediums are oil and acrylic paint, many times very fluid and other times with buttery thick strokes. I'm in love with colors, they excite me and inspire my work.
My paintings often have many layers, with lower layers, seemingly random, still visible here and there. I like to use textures, that look natural and organic in the base layers.
All artworks are originals painted by me with love. They are all painted with high quality paint, varnished and ready to hang.

Packaging
I use secure packing materials to make sure your artwork gets to you safely wherever in the world you may live. Wax paper, plenty of bubble wrap, cardboard for securing any extra space in the box and sturdy boxes. I try to reuse clean materials when possible to minimize waste.
