I started crocheting in earnest during my senior year of college when I decided to use fiber as the primary medium in my thesis project. Since then, my pieces have evolved from interactive sculptures to pet toys & accessories and home decor. I could not be happier! (I mean, who wouldn't love watching cat videos for research and prototyping crochet desserts for a living?)

Maria-Petra opened in 2010 as a way to make some extra income. Since then, it has become a small business that I am dedicated to grow.

My goals for Maria-Petra are simple: Make items for people and pets to enjoy, and Make a difference. I've got the making of toys and things down. No prob. And pets and people alike love them and I love sharing my joy with them! Now, I'm moving toward making a difference.

First, as Maria-Petra grows in size and profit, I aim to provide a living wage for myself and future contracted artists. Second, a portion of Maria-Petra's profits will go to benefit no-kill animal shelters.
