About

Icelandic wool design. Crochet patterns, homewares and accessories, handmade in Iceland.

I am a designer/maker from Canada, living and working in Reykjavík, Iceland.

Working with wool grown and produced here in Iceland, I use traditional handwork techniques like crocheting and felting to create modern homewares and accessories infused with tactile warmth and natural, rustic beauty.

I like natural materials and simple design, and work primarily with Icelandic wool because I simply love the texture and quality of this wonderfully versatile material.

The purity of the Icelandic sheep has been preserved through centuries of isolation (no other breeds have been introduced in Iceland), and today sheep still graze freely in the highlands all summer long. Once harvested, the wool is minimally processed to keep its natural properties intact, and its unique combination of fibres – long, glossy outer fibres and fine, insulating inner fibres – result in a wool that is lightweight, strong, highly insulating and water-repellent.

Crocheting and felting creates a fabric that is even more dense and insulating, and stands up to everyday use. My products are designed and handmade with care, to be used and loved for years to come.

Additional policies and FAQs
To care for your felted items, handwash gently in cool water. Blot excess water with a towel, reshape and lay flat or stand to dry. Do not machine wash, spin or dry as this will felt and shrink your piece further. Do not store your item in direct sunlight, as this may cause some colours to fade.

Colours may not be exactly as shown due to differences between wool dye lots, and settings on individual computer monitors. If you are unsure about a colour, please contact me and I will be happy to send you a yarn sample.
